Nonsense nobody is taking lunch, Morrisons has been expanding in the north too, only at slower and targeted pace. every store has been very very busy since the introduction of M&M card and price drops, only the loss making stores in the middle of nowhere are being closed. Only reason the Germans are doing better in the north is because it's cheaper and easier to open with living costs low and cheap land to build. I hope this addresses some of your misconception.

Opium, you are confused, it was the ex ceo who actually started implementing the strategy of store closures, but I guess substance abuse can confuse from facts and set in delusions. To each his own, but at least you won't see us going tsco bb and posting confused misinformation. So far pot's has taken right steps, but it will be until interim before we see what kinds of effect that is having. It's not out of realm of possibility for one of big to merge to combat the Germans, but that's beyond your understanding. If anyone who is running a monopoly it's the Germans, with no accountability, and no one knows how much tax evasion they are doing and government needs to introduce a law to make them pay fair share of taxes. Closing the stores is not the answer when LADS as you like to call them are opening more, and mrw has already taken actions to close none profitable stores. P.S what going to happen to tsco if the interest rate goes up? LOL

Hi to Jack and everyone else, glad to see mrw will remain in ftse100, and seems it my have turned the corner with sales growth, a step in the right direction. I also think that tsco needs to make a play for mrw if it wants to survive while keeping the brand name, but mrw however does not need tsco, and it is in comfortable position on it's own. Also mrw has quality at a good value to win back customers from the Germans. ATB

Can't say I am surprised, did say the antics like this don't belong in ftse100. If you are going to act like reckless stooges you are going to get demoted. Whats going to happen when funds that only invest in ftse100 walk out?

Hi, you are missing two things, one: they want to ram it down so they can pile it up for themselves on the cheap in a good business, and two: it's the better retailer worth buying out with chums on the cheap and doing ordinary shareholders in, I've seen too many good businesses stock price crashed and then taken out.

Jack do you remember when I suggested Morrisons should go in to property development? Well if you look at at the Romford project as whole, its exactly what i had in mind, but Morrisons doing at all on it's own, acquire property where necessary use what they have. Residential, leisure, stores.
