RE: Referendum21 Dec 2018 08:35
Where I live (I.O.M) is not in the EU or part of the UK. That is not to say that we would not be affected by whatever transpires, but as an onlooker I am dismayed by the current situation. Firstly the negotiations have been handled badly from the off and the end deal as you would expect from this is a very poor version of what could have been. However we are where we are as they say and a WTO based exit from the EU should not be feared, but is a challenge that should be risen to. There is an awful lot of misinformation propagated by Remainers about a WTO exit mostly it seems based on ignorance and a snowflake attitude that hugely underestimates the ability of business to rapidly adapt to new situations.
As for a second referendum this should be, if it isn't already, a dead duck. The result of the first has not yet been delivered, so a second would be extremely divisive, not to mention the difficulty of framing the question, so that anyone advocating one, even those that are desperate to stay in the EU, must be trapped in an artificial bubble away from reality.
I was watching Parliament live and therefore looking straight at Jeremy Corbyn when he mouthed "stupid woman". For him to then deny he said it proves to me what a liar he is. I wish I could say I was surprised at this.
