In an ideal world multiple companies making the same test would be great, and for odx we dont care, but for other companies that have IP to protect that adds extra complexity and delays, it also puts too many eggs in a single basket for the government, i think multiple tests that look the same is a given

No one has said there will only be one test offered as the uk government test, as long as they are of the same type and can be badged the same, with the same paperwork and instructions and similar SNS figures it makes little difference, surescreen are ready to go, odx just manufacture so need the customer (dhsc) to secure the rights to the test, This is probably why AVCT were told to drop the saliva test in favour of the standardised nasal swab,

We already know surescreen have taken 20M off that demand, so leaves 84m gap to fill , trouble is the assumption being the delivery dates are 5th feb to 31st march, ODX cant deliver a newspaper in that timeline, so all the calculations fall apart

Lets just throw out some possible calculations and there is no science around this as ODX wont give us any (or have signed up to something they don't know about )

Assuming 20% overhead (contracts, consultants, management) on the contract that means £730M for 108M tests = £6.76 per test.

Why would it be a scam you can get these from loads of places, (lloydspharmacy for example), the issue is they are at home collection that you need to send away for analysis, the AbC-19 test is professional use only as MHRA home use approval has never arrived.

Statement from Walbrook about ABC missing from Omega Website.

Abingdon Health are the legal manufacturer of the AbC-19 Rapid test, not Omega who are a sub-contracted manufacturer under licence. @Silles, those are not governed by the UK-RTC contract, we could have been selling those since they were CE marked in september

@silles, have you actually contacted them and queried supply?, All the distributors i have tried (admittedly a couple of weeks ago now) were not able to supply the visitect test and tried to sell me other tests, When i asked ODX for supplier details they directed me to the ABC test and Abbingdon.

@Dibs61 : My take on the removal of the ABC test from the website (and i have asked Walbrook for a comment), is that as of the 14th when the UK-RTC contract gets snuffed out completely, then ODX will simply become a contract supplier for ABDX for any further ABC tests, so aren't able to publicise the fact they will make any, Considering ABDX have also ramped up LFT capacity, i dont think they will get any orders for ABC, and they have spent 6 months preferring that test to the Visitect branded one, so the wont make much of those either.

I think mid feb is arguably towards the end of the "New" year, which i assumed would actually be january, so i think we are due a factual update rather than more smoke and mirrors.

If you check the interim results from November, they clearly stated in the H2 Outlook

So i think we can all agree its late, unless that is they were referring to H2 - 2021

The only covid related tests we know for definite they have supplied is 175K tests produced as part of the UK-RTC order, supplied on the 8th January, nothing prior or nothing since.

@trickymatters, The point is Colin stated a ramp up to 2M a week in april before anyone knew about any loan equipment from the government, (investor presentation in november). if we are still at 2M in april with the loan equipment, did Colin know about the possibility of the loan in november, or has cut back on our own equipment orders because of the loan.

@Ton1C, Government equipment tenders went out in october (https://bidstats.uk/tenders/2021/W01/742457594), so it could be the case that discussions were had before the November investor presentation, but then CK would have been giving forward looking statements without the necessary support for them at that time?, Unless he was still holding the cash in the bank if the loan equipment never materialised, we can only guess at what goes on behind closed doors.

"We know that they were a small, medium sized company who have dropped everything to support the country in a pandemic", What exactly have they done to support the country up to this point, unless you consider prepping capacity for Covid-23 ?
