Time for a big change in how we run the UK that needs real leadership that might last longer than 4/5 years and why do we not have adequate storage for Gas so that we all might benefit from winter/summer price volatility.

romaron I am not as articulate as you and would struggle to send coherent emails to Linda, but i have for a long time thought why do the E&P company's not start to collaborate and object to the wholly one sided barrage of condemnation towards hydrocarbons approach from our vote counting politicians. If this is aloud to continue they will damage this industry in the UK forever at a time when we need Energy security. If we get another prolonged spell of windless weather like we experienced last summer over the winter i fear this country will be in a dire situation, how is importing gas cheaper than our own production never mind the transporting costs to the environment.

Sekforde I would hope they stay away from UK until the politicians make some concessions towards E&P that make it workable , we need this industry to continue for another ten years minimum . IMO

Add in a sneaky acquisition for a distressed producer ( very likely in this financial environment ) and we might just come out of this with a real investment , not a micky mouse play thing for the shorters.

The West need's energy security and it is about time our politicians informed the public we are not BP. Shell with huge profits. The WFT is lopsided and not workable at below £75 oil especially with the current inflation for small/mid size E&P company's IMO

Not been a better time to sell a gold mine in the last 5 years i would say.

Fuel costs are defiantly on the way down, is this not our biggest exspence other than labour/staff.

The whole industry should be lobbying the government, we need a healthy O&G industry for security not a scapegoat for vote counters.

Yes....trouble here for me is how are they going to keep the institutions invested, talking now about the big problem emerging around labour getting into power with no certainty around EPL 2028 and no real insight on further taxes.

It was never about the amount of tax , it was all about vote counting. When they tally up the amount it will cost on lost jobs , tax paid , detriment toward one of the only real cash making industry's in the UK it all adds up to a failed government strategy towards our energy security.
