Hi Vas, once everyone meets the standard required the USP is gone. It's now down to price, and Kalkitech are probably pricing less than 90% margins. India loves a bargain, and there will be no favourites because CC have been partnered for so long. L&T are the standard corporate animal, and I strongly suspect they have taken them on to start the price war. I would think this is the obvious. Welcome to India.

2cv, it's not an opinion, like GPRS is not a genuine threat to blow holes in CC dream. I have never been believed on here, which suits me well, but I have been proven correct on a number of occasions, unlike many. Time will tell, if you cannot work a way of finding out beforehand.

They have largely ignored all other options, as their mesh solution was to be the answer, giving CC 'World Leader' status. They will have known for some while this is not how it is panning out, and Solar tech spend is being ramped as we speak. They will be a long way behind, others have been centred on this for a very long time. It will all come out in time, or you could just ask now? They might give you the decency of an email, I didn't bother them though.

Given you are away from this, you may have forgotten what the whole business plan is based on. It has, or had, EESL, and similar, smaller, contracts as it's cornerstone. It has lost round one, and is hoping to feature in future segments of the programme. The customer base is massive, and largely pot less, so a pre paid system ensuring they get income will ensure the rollout becomes a solvent offer from day 1. Great for India, not so good for SI's like Cyan. It was nailed on that they would go for a Mesh based solution and CC where in the middle of it, SIMS came from nowhere. They kind of lost a one horse race. Unfortunately it is rolling out very well, meter suppliers are also having no issues. JC will say something one day, but where does he start. Hope this helps.
