Paul 1828 - Everyone will have a personal view on that, but it has to be remembered that your opinion was shared by many before this week and portfolios and ISAs are currently in tatters. I haven't come on to be negative, just balanced, I'm not seeing anyone screaming £4 by the end of the week this morning, or £6 by christmas.

K3VMC - Not sure about people regretting it, a direct upward trajectory to above last weeks level is in no way guaranteed.

Whichever way you cut it or your view on what happened it had the desired effect, volume went up on the ASX. I'm not going to get involved in debates over gold prices or share dealing techniques, but as someone who did listen at school occasionally I will point out to those that didn't that when you take 20+% from Mondays SP and then add 7% to Tuesdays you have not got a 1/3 of your money back, it doesn't work like that.
