Morning all - Just had a little chuckle, people are complaining on another board because they've had no news for 46 days.

He's more entertaining and funnier than me, he thinks things are going to improve here.

I'm no 'get rich quicker', I can't even get rich slowly.

I did have a little chuckle at the mass of new posters who thought they could sniff out a quick profit. TBF maybe some did on the little ripple in the S.P.

I forgot to tell you, I've just spoken to a man, who knows a man who..... and NEWS IS DUE. Keep laughing it may be all we have left.

Redhammy - I partly agree with that, I see it as a chat board because that is what it is for. If there is nothing relevant to the share I, and I know a few others see no reason why the topic can't drift into other territories whether serious or just for a laugh. The bit I always have a problem with is when people don't like another persons view, but instead of calmly debating they choose to take advantage of the 'free and anonymous' situation and hurl abuse often of the worst kind, in fact you don't have to look too far to sometimes see people offering to meet up in a car park threatening violence. That kind of behaviour is far beyond anything that should be acceptable from grown men. I like to think that I never abuse my anonymity and that I would voice my opinions to anyone over a pint and they would calmly explain why I am wrong.

The Captain gave me several reasons some time back why I am wrong to hold my views here, I respected his point but that was some time time ago and whilst the respect still holds I'm less inclined to accept those reasons now. I still think that this board is one of the best on here, long may it continue.

Musk - Just to be perfectly clear I am not calling anyone out for their reasons for their investment choices, that would be more than a little bit wrong coming from a greenhorn, I just don't believe that many have anymore belief in this than I do, talking it up won't make this a great long term prospect, that required leadership from the C.E.O. and the board demonstrating that they working hard to make sure they don't turn up once a year to say they have managed to lose more money than they receive in revenue.

Given the levels of revenue and accomanying losses posted in the last 2 years it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to think that there should be some 'material news' to inform the shareholders of what the board are doing to improve the situation. Maybe most peoples willingness to see this situation as normal is because they only bought shares in this because of all the talk of Platforms, shopping, asia,and most of all because they thought anything A.I. had to rise, and they planned to take a quick profit and run away never to give another thought to the company again, but it it hasn't worked that way, and most are too embarrassed to admit it.

Latino - when nothing happens there's always a bit of me that agrees with some others view that patience is required, but in a situation like this I think then people have a right to be unhappy. Yesterday I listened to a podcast of an interview the C.E.O. at SVNS, a company that has much going on with constant updates on progress, he said his role was to continue to provide value for the shareholders, surely that should be the prime consideration of any C.E.O.

I'm not trying to stoke the frustration of yourself or anyone else on here, but whether this ship sinks or comes in loaded with treasure there should indeed be not only an update on the progress of the deal that everyone is waiting for but information on what else the company is doing to generate revenue and hopefully profit.

It's clear that again the class idiot has offended some with his quiz earlier, sorry for that. With regard to Mannnan's view that the ship is sinking my opinion is that next time I go out for an hour I could come back to find that I'm in profit, it's only sinking if it actually sinks, this hasn't. Taking the opposite view, that patience is required I think that if I lent my best friend or a family member who I see every day £5 and then I never heard from him for 6 months then my patience would turn to regret and a strong feeling that my fiver was never going to return to it's rightful home, whereas if he popped round occasionally to apologise and tell me of his difficulties it would be easier to understand the problem.

I read an article the other day, I'm not that excited by financial journalists, but some things they can't get wrong. It went along the lines of, posting good results is no longer enough, the market was already supporting the S.P. on expectation of good figures so for the price to rise then the the market has to be shocked by the Y.O.Y. increase in profit.

Yes, as you say, it's August, but it appears to me that unless a company is constantly churning out good news then the S.P. drifts, perhaps that has always happened and as a new investor I had not seen it before in individual cases. Maybe I have have learnt so little that I will always be 100% wrong in my views, but as a person who had taken a small interest in the markets generally before putting my money down, the one thing that I feel confident in saying is that if a B.O.D. of a large company sat back and just watched the S.P. drift constantly downward without explanation and a plan to halt the decline that they would after a certain % drop be held to question by shareholders.

I can't speak for others but it looks a bit weird in a lot of places at the moment, even good news isn't being received that well sometimes.

I'm seeing that everywhere I look at the moment. If something isn't being pumped then it's falling. The only difference here is that it's been going on for longer.

something to keep you all busy ? if a company lends shareholders money to another company with the intention of making a profit which it then shares with it's very patient shareholders, what does the ceo of the company then do ? (a) sit with his feet up drinking ****tails with his fellow directors, or (b) make himself busy finding more profitable deals to enhance shareholder wealth ? if the answer is (a) should the shareholders be happy that the company is relying on just one deal ? if the answer is (b) how long should the shareholders wait before the c.e.o. tells them just what he is doing with his time ?
