instead of USD60m acceptable. If someone erred like that working for me they'd have to have a very good explanation to keep their job. This error has probably crashed the price by multiples more than it should have and caused many stop losses to trigger thus causing exagerated financial losses. The more that these errors are simply "accepted" without negative consequences for those who make them, then the lower that standards fall as we see in society generally. Even Kate Midleton was caught posting a 'fraudulent' photo of herself and children, and I accept well intentioned and in itself not that important, but it has started a huge debate on what is fake and what is not after Reuters, who also made the mistake here !!!, asked for the Royal photo to be withdrawn !!

RKT has another 400+ cases behind the USD60m awards one so could be 400 x USD60m .... ???

Another GSK-type scenario ?

Early last Friday 08:02 BAB shot up to 524.50p, then reversed to 504.59 by 08:05 !! It then jumped to 518p by 08:26 and from there drifted down and sideways till close. A fund buying early on to 524.50p which would be a great sign ?

Correction to my last post which stated a USD60b award which I read from an Alliance News bulletin. The correct figure is USD60m and after reading up on this case, there may be at least another 400 cases following this depending upon the Appeal presumably which increases the risk.

Shouldn't Reckitt have a warning on the tin that the formula can cause this NEC as they'd then be covered ? Or at least highly recommend a doctor's assessment before giving to a baby ? Can't understand some of these businesses and how their very highly paid "so-called competent" managers get to the top positions !!

What I find fascinating is that an award of USD60b is made at all against a business which currently has a Market Cap of UKP37b = c USD47b. I know that initial award figures in the US could feature in a Monty Python show, but such an award could question the judge's mental ability. Theoretically, apart from a credible view that no baby is worth USD60b (I certainly wasn't !!), if the amount was to be paid, and I don't believe it will, then the whole business would have to be

liquidated first with the loss of thousands of jobs and GBPbillions to shareholders and IRS. Thus no one baby is worth that much !! So

I ask, why would damages at that level be awarded at all, why not a more reasonable amount that is deemed acceptable. A black guy was released from prison in the US recently and he had spent c 48

years in prison for a murder he had not done. He is to receive USD175,000 for wrongful imprisonment !!

V Ryanair who have much lower prices: "The Irish carrier said on Nov. 6 it had secured about 85% of its fuel requirements for 2024 at $89 per barrel, and over 50% for 2025 at $79 per barrel."

Why they hedge at these high prices I cannot understand, even today EZJ would get much cheaper prices.

Mandysrevenge, by answering me you must have detected my Yorkshire connection !! I tend to agree with Penny, though as you say, 'it's the Law'. Governments these days molly coddle (or roughly that term) people too much. We're told on one hand that we are Responsible for our decisions and actions, which I agree with, whilst on the other hand Governments do many things which signal otherwise !! People have advanced in intelligence and knowledge so should be more accountable for their own behaviours, eg Buyer Beware !! Even taking the Covid anti-virals, which involved much more complexity and wasn't fully understood by the "experts", was a decision to be taken by each individual. I've had 4 doses, 1 initial and 3 boosters, and I would blame only myself if things had gone wrong !! Sw10000, I share your views except that my investment is a small % (1.7%) of my PFolio. What I find 'astounding' is the amount of effort for a business Cap'd at c £6m to complete a set of Accounts !! They have now added an African chartered accountant, presumably because records aren't complete due to bad systems, and a CEO of the Kili mine, both requiring salaries !! I see their RNS says 11,400 tonnes mined at 1.86 g/tonne. Does that mean 11,400 x 1.86 = 21,204 grams of gold resulting because it seems a lot ? Great if it's true and an answer from those who know more about Gold than me would save my time googling it !!

I find it fascinating that there is a Class action at all against BT re bills overcharged !! Don't the Terms of Business, which all customers are required to read (if they don't, well !!), state that it is the customer's own responsibility to read them and contest an overcharge within a reasonable period ? Garonne. I could feel your "pain" whilst reading your post. I'm also deep in the red having an average sp of 189p from years ago. Don't kick yourself too much, we all make mistakes !! It is surprising that the BOD aren't buying shares I admit. We need to give the new CEO a chance and I still have confidence that VOD will get back above 100p (average sp target is c 93p on Bing) in medium term. They need to get rid of non-core and less profitable assets, aggressively cut costs and concentrate on their strengths, not exactly rocket science !!

SavvyInvestor, you're having "fun" here because you can't hit a ball into holes today, but making or losing money isn't just a fun activity. Some on here have very large amounts invested. The current sp is far from your predictions, even if you qualify them by saying it's only "banter" so that defines you as you have still stated your case !! Are you invested at all and by how much % to your total portfolio I wonder ?!!

Gingy, I totally agree with you. Most people would question their sanity / reality if on that kind of money. I think it's totally disgusting, sinful greed, when there is so much poverty everywhere. But with others receiving c £25m p.a. for kicking, hitting or throwing a ball around !! I'm not surprised !! Look what Rhiana (in India) and Taylor Swift (in Singapore) are getting for singing a few songs and jumping about a stage !!
