Jds15, spot on !! I've a 2004 Ford Fiesta, do maybe 5,000 miles per year and services/repairs/tyres cost less than £500 p.a. Watching all these large SUV's flying about costing maybe £4,000 p.a. finance or bought outright for £40k upwards makes me wonder how intelligent are these people !! A Brussels study also showed that there is a 28% higher risk of death if these 3ton monstrosities hit a pedestrian, cyclist or smaller car like mine, thus these people are happy to also risk that, something wich is tempting to comment on re (their position on a sociopath spectrum, but I won't as it's also the attitude "as long as I'll be safe" !!)

One aspect it didn't emphasize enough though is that RR is a much stronger lower risk global business now, Moodys rating upgrade implies it though, and does one want to invest in RR then or other more risky shares which might provide higher gains, and might not !! I'm confident in RR and its high future potential albeit no-one really knows the future in this volatile world !!

My ITM also fell back, not by as much at 14:28'ish, but it's also an alternative energy share. Very odd given the rises today on US Markets !!

Salfordred, I think BATS especially will benefit from FED interest rate cuts, especially because they are much larger than IMB and held by more US investors. Some price targets for BATS are over £50 so plenty of gains to be made from £39, if they happen of course !! Good safety share also if economic concerns get worse.

Milliband over last weekend talking about further investment in low carbons, mentioned Hydrogen !! The move from oil and gas is moving quicker than some realise !!

Thanks Fusion, I've been treating as Div Income and have questioned ii why they don't include it on their Consolidated Tax Certificate Report which they market as a very useable report accepted by HMRC for Dividend Income purposes !! Laughable really as some investors use it for their tax returns !!

Just wondering as ii are unclear on tax treatment of GLEN's Cash Distribution. I know they don't give tax advice, but even HMRC challenged GLEN in a court case years ago as GLEN say they treat it as a Capital Return and HMRC say it's Dividend Income !! By it's nature, I feel HMRC are correct because the amounts are small, regular and retain a 35% WHT when Capital Returns are usually much larger, once off amounts, involve a reduced shareholding and source from the sale of a part of the business. One Capital Return was Aviva's in 2022 when they generated temporary 'B' shares which were sold by them and distributed the Capital Return whilst reducing the traded shares in proportion.

Vamosbien, fair play you having 320,000 ITM shares and wish you best of luck with them. However, ITM is a much riskier share than many so hope that you also have other shares or investments as part of a diversified portfolio ? Unwise usually to have all your eggs in the one basket !! There is no 100% certainty with investments as I'm sure you know !! My ITM holding is 4% of my 21 share portfolio and comfortable with that !!
