Sisfis, one never knows !! It's not always about the money, sometimes the challenge and simply life's circumstances can attract the right candidate. After all, if one is already rich and wants experience in a certain field, then is money as important ? Can't take money with you to the next life !

Today is ex-div day so anyone selling today will get the div., circa 3.5%. Price drop is only 1% really because Drop 4.5% - div 3.5%. Ftse down circa 1.7% so effectively PHNX is up today v ftse100 !!

Proposals, proposals....!! What countries may this apply to ? Effects on employment, taxes, etc... very important. A cap on airmiles, if any, would be set quite high and how would it be enforced in practice, eg if one booked flight from Moscow to Beijing after flying London to Moscow, etc... ? MP's, business people, etc. . would be most effected apart from compulsive backpackers maybe so another reason for a high threshold. Planes also will be lower carbon eventually.

This is a better company than 18 months ago, more cash, more commercial experience (albeit at our expense and hopefully costly lessons learned), more IP prospective products, a CEO (though his expertise untested here - has anyone researched him ?), some income from the masks, etc... I held these at 0.4p in 2019 and would be surprised if sp goes much lower from here. Main objecive is to Commercialise their IP nano products and continue to develop them. LT investing requires patience and that is what any investors here need !! So into the safe go these shares !!

And yet JKG53, us consumers demand the oil !! We have a choice, if we didn't use it, unless paying larger sums to convert to low carbons, yes our travelling would be slower, we may be cold in winter, etc.., but We are the ones who demand the higher carbon products so the oilies shouldn't be sued !!

Thank goodness again in small profit after topping up a few times at £14, £13.50 and £13 and watching the sp fall further !! Div is currently very good but next year's changes hopefully good for LT pi's

Sadanby001, just because shorting hedge funds are shorting IAG doesn't mean it'll fall. Are you aware of how successful shorters are, yes some have done well, but using their average I wouln't invest in them !!

Jtan, World planet earth not due to drift into our sun for millions of years. In 50000 years, IAG will be taking our great great greats to faraway galaxies.Who knows, there probably will be teleportation by then and going to beaches in Spain, etc..won't be in demand !! No-one can accurately forecast this sector, too many variables, a good LT investment, just lie back and enjoy the bumpy ride !! Top up if it goes low enough, in 2 - 3 years can't see sp below £3, but that's just my 'hope' !!

Hi FTSE12, with greatest respect, how do we know that you are a 'Management Consultant in the Airline business' and that your family are also all involved ? You could also be a Deramper / Shorter of this share ? There are enough on other buletin boards here. Also, there are as always many diverse opinions on these subjects. Many of the 'Expert' fund managers invested in IAG and the like don't really know where things will be in a few months, there are so many variables at play...I'm in LT so fluctuations downwards allow me to top up and reduce my average.

Nate9076, Odey would have to have sold before close last Friday, the relevant stockmarkets are closed during Sat + Sun. In the case where 'sold' sometimes means 'intention to sell', surely they wouldn't announce it in advance because the price would fall and they would receive less proceeds ? So they don't like IAG and RyanAir !! Many funds don't like specific sectors. Are you or others going to sell simply because a hedge fund decides to ? Last Friday, IAG fall 2-3%, not a lot for this share, and shows that enough maybe just as informed buyers mopped up their shares. Most hedge funds don't perform that well anyway so do you believe in Odey ? Maybe IAG will take a hit tomorrow because of algorithmic reaction to this maybe negative (to some investors) news ? I'm invested LT so no worries. Another brokerage upped their target to 255p, UBS I think. But DYOR !! Enjoy your Sunday !!

Agreed Jarv55, Cave is good as a scientist but not the only good one. There was some note on Bloomberg last night stating a new mask with a layer that 98% kills Covid19, didn't catch the name unfortunately. I hope RMS eventually monetise its knowledge....been invested now 5 years and will probably be another 5 !!
