Goodness bladerunner, it's a wonder you'd buy CMCX at all from your negative view !! My avg is 288p and what do you think I'll do if it collapses to 200p, nothing !! Investing requires patience and when I sell for a nice profit + divs in a few years, it'll have been worth it.

highlowballs, BATS is a million miles from the type of company that WB talks about. BATS is a billion £ highly profitable company with thousands of employees diversified over many countries. Its size makes it very versatile even to diversify into non-core activities, eg IMB has a Distribution business. Did you know BATS has a scientific lab in Texas where they analyse tobacco, etc.. and where I believe they are still trying for Covid-2 cure using tobacco, more academic at this stage I'd imagine. Smoking of some sort, like alcohol, illicit drugs, gambling, excessive sugar/ eating and many other addictive vices will exist in high quantity as long as mankind survives. The sheer stresses of life, and they are increasing as life becomes more and more complex and demanding, guarantee the continuation of these vices to allow us to 'let off steam'. BATS is diversifying to ensure its survival, they are being proactive. Govts know that smoking tax revenue is significant both from sales and numbers employed, etc.... We're not robots or beings without feelings just yet, robots don't need vices, though I feel that many societal and business interests would like robotic citizens, ie compliant and without feelings / so called 'professional' !! Just my simple view of things from a guy in his sixties !!

From a fundamentals/value perspective, why is sp dropping so much ? I don't believe in Technicals !!?? BATS won re US IQOS v PM and Altria so one would expect a sp rise not fall ?

Reason for drop are Supply Chain shortages and perceived less container usage ??? OR Higher fuel costs ???

Well Harry, best of luck with your choice to accept the TO. I sold 100% yesterday at 8.85p and have rolled proceeds into CMC Markets shares which are currently well down due to lower market volatility. It's all a risk but didn't want the 31% sitting in an uncertain limbo for months whilst I could at least hope for a higher return in another share. Too much uncertainty post-TO. GL all LT holders

Hope there won't be another 'big drop' bladerunneruk, I more than doubled my holding today !! Volatility, and increased trading profits potential, is starting to return to markets, can't see CMC falling back, also there's the attractive div !!

maidit, I've a lot of IAG and they were up 11% today, helping my portfolio gain today, so am I a 'FKN lier' as you put it, but liar is the correct spelling as is "their' not 'there' for 'their portfolio'.

big-blue, you really got it wrong today, better to maybe not share your deep analysis, but hold it for your biography.....some on here could be misguided and lose money by believing you.

SAJM, Realistically, even if all went extremely well and after the upcoming tendering, the remaining funds bought the most lucrative business cheaply, how long do you think you'd have to wait to break even ? My break even is 10.3p and I accept I'll make a loss here and will take up the tendering if the sp doesn't rise above 9p. I'm trying to mitigate loss at this point and roll proceeds into another share with much better prospects, eg travel or hosoitality, etc.. But DYOR !!

karak, what standards are you using to appraise BAT's behaviour ? Those of the 'holier than thou' West, those of a perceived perfect Heaven OR those of the cultures within which they operated ? Western powers hide their corruption better than less developed countries though some corruption leaks out. The individuals, if there is to be punishment, should be punished, not the company. If an employee is asked to take an action which is wrong, it is their choice and they can always refuse. Did you see the US Forces torture base 25 miles north of Kabul on Sky Mon night where Taliban, ISIS, etc...were brutally tortured ? Our Earth is far from an idealistic Heaven, sorry to say

Developed Northern countries also have some of it, eg Sarkozy, Netanyahu, Trump, Blair re BA. ?, etc..Big Business and Politics are generally dirty anyway...
