Good news from Satellite Solutions Worldwide this morning with the French government announcing proposed support for accelerated satellite broadband roll out....Andrew Walwyn, CEO of SSW, commented, "This statement is particularly significant as, despite many European governments having broadband subsidy schemes, they are often constructed around fibre. President Macron has directly acknowledged that fibre alone cannot viably resolve the problem of universal broadband provision; satellite is a key solution for the large areas (2 million people) of France that do not have adequate broadband coverage.' .....and from 'This is Money' in 2016 'SSW’s business model is quite simple. The group rents space from satellite providers such as Eutelsat and Avanti, which build the devices sent into space, and it then provides broadband to consumers and small firms.' SSW should hopefully provide some contracts for Avanti then..... "We are already one of the largest independent satellite broadband providers in France with c.12,000 customers. We believe the French government's announcement highlights the importance of satellite and other alternative technologies to fibre which should underpin our French business in the coming years."

and RTC pays a dividend.....

Nameinvert: from the 2016 Annual Report about 62% of the shares are not in public hands....and 2 of the Directors hold about 20% between them.....and in April 19 W J C Douie, Chairman of RTC, made the following statement: "I am pleased to report that the Group has traded well since the publication of the 2016 results in February and we continue to experience a strong demand from both new and existing customers. The Board is confident of the trading prospects of the Company in the current financial year."

£28m contract ......£8m MCap. This afternoon's RNS: 'RTC is delighted to announce that Ganymede Energy, a division of Ganymede Solutions Limited ("Ganymede"), has been chosen by SSE Plc to source, train and provide a minimum of 250 Dual Fuel Installers for its Smart-Meter rollout programme ("the Contract"). The initial term of the Contract signed on 25 July 2017 runs until 31 December 2020 and has a revenue value of £28m which will be realised over the initial term.'

The Company is a leading provider of satellite data communications services in 118 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has just been granted a loan facility of $100m at a lower rate of interest than its previous $50m loan and HYLAS 4 is close to launch. tracker2009 - have you checked the prices at which the Directors bought shares between 2011 and 2016?.......they all bought when the share price was between £5.00 (yes £5.00) and £0.90....shows a deal of confidence in the Company,

From reading the Annual Reports over the last 3 years it would seem that there have been anticipated delay problems with HYLAS 3 and that it may have been expected to launch after HYLAS 4, eg 2014/15 Annual Results states: 'Construction of our HYLAS 4 satellite began at the beginning of the financial year and the launch remains on-track for early 2017, with HYLAS 3 scheduled to launch in the same year. HYLAS 4 will complete our planned coverage of EMEA.' In the latest $100m Loan Facility RNS Paul Walsh, Chairman of the Company, said "This transaction is a positive step for the Company to lower its cost of capital with a prominent global investor and provide additional headroom in a crucial period with the launch of HYLAS 4 pending and customer demand for our products recovering." So it seems the loan is primarily for HYLAS 4. Furthermore, although the debts of the company are indeed large, would a lender be prepared to put in $100m at a lower interest rate than AVN were paying for their previous $50m debt facility if they were not confident of the success of that Company with the imminent launch of HYLAS 4? .
