The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
For those that believe, last week we concluded a classic 61.8% retracement to 5.1after the rise from 2.0 to 10.0……. and then we started to rise . Let’s hope it continues……. all the info coming out of Bangladesh suggests it will
Can anyone direct me to the details of major/director shareholders on their website….. cannot find it at all!
....and into auction we go........
Not sure if it's been commented on already, but I thought an interesting part of the new NED's RNS was Paul Shackleton being appointed as 'acting Chairman'.......it gives a strong hint that there will be another NED appointed who will be THE Chairman.....perhaps from Bangladesh?
In profit.....and with only 62m shares in issue, and 75% of those tightly held (including 7% by Directors), this has a MCap of less than £4m
Of course you did...........
Earl - as someone who went to todays AGM I can say that your appalling reputation on LSE is only being enhanced by the lack of knowledge in your comments here…..
Sharebare2 - you're implying that if we do not have news of NED's being appointed today then the Nomad will leave immediately. Where does it say this please?
Just to clarify, the Company’s Nomad states in the AGM notice that if CTW leaves the Board (he has) then if the Company does not appoint a number of NED’s IN THE SHORT TERM (my caps) then the Nomad is likely to resign…… and if the Company does not have a Nomad then it will be suspended. So I don’t think the announcement of new NEDs has to be made tomorrow…. or else….. rather it has to be made in the short term (whatever that means!)
Thought I'd repost my gen. info about the AGM being held this coming Thursday. For those attending you can fill in a voting form on the Resolutions at the AGM - if you have already sent in a Form of Proxy this will stand (as long as it is received by Link Group by tomorrow) unless you fill in a voting form at the AGM in which case it will be voided. Please note that if your shares are held in a Nominee a/c then you have to have a Letter of Representation to attend the AGM.
'Just to remind everyone that the Company's AGM is on Thursday 29 Feb at QEII Centre, Broad Sanctuary, Westminster, London, SW1P 3EE, starting at 10.00am. It is probably the most important AGM in the Company's history.
If you want to attend and your shares are held in a Nominee A/C (Barclays, HL, etc), as most PI's are, then you need to phone the holder of your shares and request a Letter of Representation....as time is now short then it's best to ask them to email it to you.
A Form of Proxy to vote on the resolutions can be downloaded from the Company's website .
Shareholders are asked to complete and return the Form of Proxy in accordance with the instructions printed
thereon as soon as possible, but, in any event, so as to be received by the Company’s registrars, Link
Group, PXS 1, Central Square, 29 Wellington Street, Leeds. LS1 4DL by no later than 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday
27 February 2024 whether or not they propose to be present at the 2023 Annual General Meeting.
It is important to vote for Gary Lye to be re-appointed as a Director....otherwise we'll need another NED on top of the 2 already (hopefully!) being recruited.
Hope to see a number of you there......'

$1 billion value for a Unicorn company………
….. sorry it actually reads the split of the project as 80% GCM, 20% Power Construction China
Some more info from the Global Data analysis link posted by Searcher a few days back - I was unaware that GCM has a 20% ownership if the project with PowerChina 80% …… are go ahead details more advanced than we are aware?

Does anyone know how NED posts are advertised - is there an on-line vacancy list, is it through social media, Director magazine or is it just word of mouth? Perhaps PI's can spread the word that GCM has 2 posts that require filling! One would think that the prospect of sitting on the Board of a Company that could change the energy prospects of an entire country would have a certain appeal!
I refer you to my post earlier today:
And to add to the good news here's the link to the feature on BBC South yesterday: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-68231275.amp .........CAR T-cell therapy in Southampton hailed by cancer patient - A grandfather is celebrating being cancer free after he was among the first patients offered a new treatment.
Peter Garland's lymphoma returned last year following chemotherapy but he was given chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T-cell) therapy.
It involves collecting and using the patient's own modified immune cells to treat their condition.
He said, following the treatment at University Hospital Southampton (UHS), he had now "got my life back".

Just seen a feature that mentioned a successful CAR-T treatment for leukaemia done at University of Southampton - am new to this share but thought it might be relevant
And Jeremy Asher, Chairman and CEO, put £80000 of his own money into the recent fund raise......on top of contributions to previous fund raises as well
In auction.....again!
