It's still a nice 5% dividend yield so as a long term investor I am happy to hold because when housebuilding does eventually pick up I'll have a nice low average price plus a growing again (hopefully) dividend.

So today despite the market slump the likes of IAG and Easy jet are slightly up, yet Tui is down nearly 3 and a half percent as I type.

Anyone have any clue as to why?

I am looking forward to EasyJet dropping out of the FTSE100 as within the FTSE 250 the share price faired much better

The interim divi was lowered by 43% so I imagine the final divi will be lowered by the same amount.

If this is the case the final divi will be around the 10.2p mark

There is literally no hope for this share in my opinion. Great results yet again yield next to nothing in share price response.

There is only so long we can use the middle east and Ukraine situations as an excuse for such bad performance.

IAG is much more exposed to the middle east than Tui and it has been faring much better in share price.

Like others, I have been invested for a long time in Tui but am now on the verge of walking away with a big loss rather than suffer more years of disappointment from this terribly performing investment.

Its been announced at 4% for the year now as a dividend

4 months ago this share was around £5.70 and I had broken even. But I thought i'd give EasyJet a chance to breathe and the amazing results would have the price going up to make me a small profit.

Well the results were amazing but I am now kicking myself for not selling back then, as the price today is at a paltry £4.18.

For this to get back up to £5.70 it will need a miracle (or a wait of 2 to 3 years)

Obviously this is just my opinion, but it's based on years of frustrating disappointment of investing in airlines.

With Tui on a constant downward spiral in it's share price, and not even taking into account today's global falls, do you think the company could go under?

Its lost 20% of it value in just a week and any potential good results come 14th August will mean nothing if by then then its value is nearly worthless in terms of market cap.

Dropped over 4% already this morning

All i can say is that if tomorrow the share price doesn't finish substantially up then we all may as well give up and go home

Have i missed something today? A 3% drop on a day when more people should soon have more money in their pockets.....

Or is it still the sentiment of the middle east problems dragging down airline stocks again?

You never know, the UK markets are so warped in their reactions so if results don't meet expectations tomorrow the share price may go up!

Probably a combination of lethargy caused by the heat and the constant frustration of this share.......

It's now summer holiday time for children all over Europe with hundreds of thousands of families taking holidays.

If the share price hasn't recovered and done well when they end in 6 weeks' time then there can be no hope of the price ever recovering if their reason d'etre can't even help them!

IAG is 15% UP this year so far, not 30% down,and its UP 25% since the covid outbreak too

Yes it must be MM's and II's first thing piling in and then taking profits at the close .

An 8% rise falls to a 3% rise all told - not great but as others have said lets hope for another rise tomorrow, as a 3% lift overall is better than what we have been used to recently :)

Wow very happy with these results and the 8% rise in share price so far today

I do admire everyone's optimism this morning, but recent experience tells me that come close of business today the price will have dropped.

There has seemed to be recently no correlation between company performance and share price for the likes of EasyJet and Tui etc

Obviously I hope i'm very wrong but investing in airlines has been a very frustrating business these past few months.....
