Does anyone know please when the review of the 100 members of the FTSE occurs?
I just heard on the radio that easy jet is today standing as number 100 in that list after the share price has fallen 15% this month
Rio Tinto has made it clear dismantling the DLC structure isn’t a priority. At the February results call Jakob Stausholm described it as “the smallest issue to my mind” in response to a question about whether the miner would consider collapsing the DLC structure
If NVIDIA results are good again tomorrow yet Alphawave fails to have a related bounce along with most other AI related shares afterwards, then i dont know what will make the shares rise in the future
I am with Trading 212 and have been told that the delisting has not been initiated officially. Once there is any official information on the event, they will immediately let us know what will happen to our shares
10% is a lot of a portfolio to hold in BATS
Whilst the yield remains a key lure, recently it hasn't been enough to compensate for capital losses.
Current short term valuations are also quite weak so keeping the share just for the dividend doesn't make financial sense to me as an investor.
EasyJet Plc has notified a change in major holdings, with Bank of America Corporation acquiring or disposing of financial instruments, altering its total percentage of voting rights. This change crossed the notification threshold on May 13, 2024, with EasyJet being informed the next day. The resulting situation saw Bank of America Corporation holding a combined total of just under 10% of voting rights.
Excuse the possibly ignorant question - but the loss was greater than expected by who?
I watch CNBC some nights when the results of companies come out, and the share price goes up and down compared to what 'analysts expected'
Who are these analysts? And why does their opinion count for so much that they can effect share prices post results?
The rise today had nothing to do with the charts - it was due to this.

So when Sundenza earlier today called those of us worried that despite great results today the stock may have a negative day 'muppets', I'm afraid he or she was wrong.
I dont know who he or she is but he or she is now blocked from my view of this chat.

Please excuse the naive question, but if a majority of shareholders decide to sell next week and take their profits, wont that cause the share price to tumble from it's current price regardless of any prospective bidding war?
My 6.2% Lloyds monthly saver matured yesterday. I put £200 in a month with the interest applied at the end of the year's term, thinking i'd get (£2400 x 6.2%) £148.80 interest at the end.
Nope - idiot me didn't realise that the interest is based on monthly accumulation. so i got the equivalent of 3% interest instead.
I should have put a lump sum in a 5% interest account with the likes of Cahoot rather than what i did.
Oh well, you live and learn eh.....
Well i've been away for a few days with no mobile signal and have come back to my Alphawave investment having gone from 70% up to 1% down .
I am kicking myself now for not getting out in the green when I had the chance.
I dont know about you guys but i dont want my capital tied up here for 2 or 3 more years before things get better, so I'm getting out now at a very small loss whilst I still can

Sky News is reporting that any Israeli response to be made on Iran will be delayed until after the Jewish Passover.
So that means not until the end of the month
I wonder if this will have a calming effect on the markets knowing its not going to be immediate?
