Does anyone believe that all is lost now with H&W or does anyone believe there is still a chance that H&W will trade again with us as shareholders ?

Hi All This evening I do not always agree with FG but I admire his passion & directness. It is true the Government getting involved again is likely the only option now. I have made contact with one of the senior managers on LinkedIn this evening & requested that he passes on my message of assistance to the current effective CEO.

I also have e mailed the company requesting an update on putting a ‘Book’ together.

Finally I am waiting for feed back on something I started back last July. Fingers crossed.

FTSE Russell to remove certain companies on suspension of dealing rule

(Alliance News) - FTSE Russell on Friday said a number of companies will be removed from the FTSE Russell Index after being suspended for 40 business days without an indication of resumption.

In accordance with the suspension of dealing rule, they will be removed from the FTSE Russell Index for the open of August 29 at a nominal value, FTSE Russell said in a statement.

The companies are: Tomco Energy PLC, Active Energy Group PLC, Eurasia Mining PLC, DCI Advisors Ltd, Kibo Energy PLC and Harland & Wolff Group Holdings PLC.

Welcoming our new apprentices at H&W Arnish 🚀

Harland & Wolff Arnish is excited to welcome our latest intake of apprentices to the yard. The six apprentices began their journey with an induction, HSE training, and getting familiar with our workshops and yard facilities. Their college course kicks off on the 26th of August.

Meet the Team:

Edit: Clearly this is to counter the news re Appledore apprentices not being taken on board this month but it is still good news & supports trying to continue as a 'Going Concern' although I need more than this to convince me that there is any hope that our investments are safe.

Hi Citizenlane - I so agree with your post it is a 'no brainer' but I am afraid the two 'grim reapers' are only interested in their masters Riverstone. If they were serious about putting a book together they would at least try to strengthen the board, engage with shareholders and update us with progress to date.

I accept that savings need to be made & the previous executive save Arun are in my opinion to blame.From my discussions with Arun, at last years investors meeting, I spoke at length with Arun & it was clear to me he had to keep John under a tight control.Based on my conversations with Arun I am sure he would not have supported the Scilly Isles project as it would have been outside the agreed key areas of H&W.

Time will tell & hopefully my scheme I referred to in an earlier post may assist with matters & put a microscope on what is happening at H&W.

SYNOOGOLD - Great post at least others see the benefit of keeping Arnish & Methil open for business. Time to be positive.

Hi broomtree - I agree with your summary & fear you are right & I have grasped what has happened here having worked for a Biotech company listed on AIM that went through a pre admin stage.I also was involved in the process of putting a 'book' together for a subsidiary of the company which was successfully sold & no fire sale.

However I have not given up & have tried a different approach which I alluded to in my earlier post something I instigated back towards the end of July. I will give an update if what I have started has worked.

We can only now live in hope & I hope the next RNS will not be the last.

PS - I have also tried a different approach to the Gordian knot re H&W if successful I will update this board.

1) Does anyone have Russell Downs, Interim Executive Chairman e-mail address & has anyone on this board tried to contact him or any of the others that are noted on the last RNS ?

2) Has the WhatsAPP group made any progress re the EGM ?

3) Does anyone believe that we shareholders have any chance of getting any of our investment back ?

4) Has anyone been in contact with the media re H&W ?

Many other questions that will do for now.

The posting by Kaeren is the best summation of the situation that I have read so far. Balanced & to the point. It is a pity there are not more posts like it.

I do not have any idea what will happen next but our best interests are not being served by our two new additions to the company.

Hi Si_Derman - That was the case on Monday 22 July 2024 but since then I believe that the Government now realise what is now at stake particularly with the loosing by H&W being the preferred bidder for the Falklands contract.

I believe that the Government realise that they have dropped the proverbial & are now reconsidering their position.

Some may think I am looking through rose tinted glasses & I am not but I do believe that we must believe that all is not lost.

I have just posted on LinkedIn the following & would dispute the comments on 'The Barges'.

'My understanding having spoken to John Wood during the last two AGM's & at last years investors meeting also talking to Arun that H&W never went for loss making contracts.

It was said they always sought a good gross margin & if you look at the recent accounts issued in draft form they made a healthy Gross Profit of 28.66%.

Allowing for the fact that the Cory Barges represented a significant part of the companies revenue I could not disagree more with 'Lad from the yard'.'

Hi Bubble2021 - I am intrigued by your earlier post 'Just had news sent' as to who that was from & on what basis it is believed that there maybe a more positive outcome for H&W but does that include also positive news for us shareholders or our we to be the sacrificial lambs.

I still hold out hope that all our monies are not fully lost but feel the next week or two will be critical for us.

What has happened to the EGM do we have a date I am now supporting it. It will at least get us our ‘day in court’.
