'Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome representatives of UK Export Finance (UKEF) led by its Chief Executive Officer Tim Reid to our Belfast yard. The group was joined by our Chief Executive Officer John Wood and our Chief Financial Officer Arun Raman for a tour of the site including a visit to the first cruise ship to enter our world-famous dry dock for a refit this year.
The UKEF team received a guided tour of both the new build and ship repair facilities and had the opportunity to see Harland & Wolff’s five-market, six-service strategy in action. The yard is a hive of activity with projects underway across all our sectors; from repair and new build activities in hashtag#Commercial, refit in hashtag#Cruise & hashtag#Ferry, groundworks for our new fabrication hall to facilitate our work in hashtag#Defence, and preparations for the imminent arrival of a floating production vessel in hashtag#Energy.
The UKEF team was also provided with an up-close look at recapitalisation ongoing at the yard to support our work on the Fleet Solid Support (FSS) contract. Members of our senior team were delighted to provide insight into our recent milestone of reaching one thousand employees across the group, and the launch of the Harland & Wolff 2024 apprentice scheme which aims to provide greater opportunity than ever before for careers in UK shipbuilding. Edit: Looking positive for a future deal.
Currently the total trading on LSE was 653,505 & the London Stock Exchange 672,001 so not far apart allowing for timing differences.
Detailed below is an extract from an earlier RNS re the JR Appeal which means it is only 2 weeks this Tuesday that we will possible know the direction of travel the appeal will go.Hopefully a positive decision for H&W with no further appeals allowed will help resurrect the current derisory SP.
'Harland & Wolff Group Holdings plc (AIM: HARL), the UK quoted company focused on strategic infrastructure projects and physical asset lifecycle management, announces that, following today's hearing, the 6th and 7th of February 2024 have been set aside for the appeal hearing.'
This morning is looking blue with a number of chunky Buys hopefully this will continue. An RNS with positive news may be around the corner. We can always live in hope.
Hi LSE03 - I noticed the vessel for the first time today not sure of its significants.
Hi Bubble2021 - Looking at the London Stock Exchange site activity for the day it is showing 155,213 volume.
PS: Based on recent updates H&W future looks promising.
Hi Kaeren - My thoughts to & also ties in with your earlier post re Kraken Marine services.
Clearly 2022.
Based on may search at Companies House this afternoon I found the following which is just further proof that H&W are gaining momentum with their business plans.
HARLAND & WOLFF (MARINE SERVICES) LIMITED
15397566 - Incorporated on 8 January 2024
Riverbank House, 2 Swan Lane, London, England, EC4R 3TT
HARLAND & WOLFF (SCILLY FERRIES) LIMITED
15414397 - Incorporated on 16 January 2024
Riverbank House, 2 Swan Lane, London, England, EC4R 3TT
PS Good find earlier on today by Kaeren re Kraken Marine services.
Hi Nobby31 - I had a similar conversation with JW at the 2012 AGM & I concur with your comments.
Hi Kaeren, I am not sure who will have the name on the heads of agreement for the project but clearly H&W will by the fact the ship will be docked at H&W will have any mechanical work & paint job plus provide a base for the refurbishment to carried out.In all it should be a nice money earner.
Nobby31 - You have scored so far 25 recommend which I think is a record. There are a handful of posters here who go back to when you were first invested & I am one of them.Your comments are encouraging & I agree with them.If I had the funds I would be doubling my investment partly to average down.Yr 2024 should be the change year for H&W lets hope I am right.Regards CM.
Hi EP - Good to see your post this morning & the SP progress is good news.I sold out my remaining shares at $5 which meant over the years I did marginally more than just break even. However I encouraged my son to Buy many years ago & he is at a loss which is why I am still following events.I do believe that based on recent news Summit may actually become a block buster so better to hang on.Take care.Regards CM

🔧 Repair & Maintenance 🔧
'Last week, we welcomed the Songa Crystal into our Belfast Dock for emergency repairs prior to loading a cargo.
During the vessel's stay with us she will undergo extensive cleaning and replacing works to both her engine room and fuel tanks as well as her port and starboard side shells.
Working closely with the ship's staff, ships superintendent and classification society we have been able to efficiently begin with the steel repair process and ensure that the Songa Crystal will be fully operational as soon as possible.'
