Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
I thought it worth posting this. It sounds like GM are well out in front with their semi autonomous tech and will hopefully capitalise on this in a big way over the next couple of years. Great that it is now doing automated lane changes also.
Sounds like Ford bluecruise has one or two issues issues though. While Tesla clearly need Seeing Machines DMS!

The GM supercruise system inparticular gets excellent reviews pretty much wherever I have looked over the past 5 years. It sounds like fantastic tech. I can't comment on Ford, only that GM seem to do semi autonomous better than all the others at present.
Beyond this, DMS of course remains on track for being mandated in EU starting from 2024.
It's all happening for DMS/OMS as per this vid from yesterday. It starts to be mandatory from 2024 in Europe, so the question is when those big contracts are announced. It must surely be within the next few months, also interesting that SM trading update scheduled later than usual at end of August. May be nothing, but it makes me wonder if news will be following on from that.

We seem to have this dip pretty much every summer in this stock. I've been around long enough to know that (invested since Nov 2013). There's obviously been a lot of horses**t happen over the last couple of years and clearly that has had a detrimental impact on stocks - it may yet do for some time to come, especially with energy bills biting this coming winter.
On another matter, I am intrigued at talk of a potential dual listing on NASDAQ. Would that be likely to help our share price on AIM, do we think? I wish we could get off AIM altogether personally, I just think it's pretty medicore.
Hi See20 - I think you are right, this looks like an opportunity for BDMS.
It does appear that waymo are looking to commercialise their autonomous tech, via trucks. How far off this is I don't know, but going forward I think waymo could be a sizeable customer for SM.
https://blog.waymo.com/2022/06/waymo-via-and-uber-freight-partner-to.html
'This deep, long-term partnership will bring together the power of the Waymo Driver with the scale of Uber Freight’s marketplace technology, ultimately enabling the safe and scalable implementation of the Waymo Driver on America’s roads. As part of this agreement, the Waymo Via autonomous solution will be connected directly with the Uber Freight platform for shippers to tap into. This will begin with trucks in Waymo Via’s test fleet, and later on, carriers that purchase trucks equipped with the Waymo Driver through our Driver-as-a-Service model will be able to opt-in to Uber Freight and seamlessly deploy these assets on the network, enabling them to maximize utilization and grow their businesses.'
I wonder if this collaboration with uber trucks could present a decent opportunity for our BDMS, as we know waymo are using bdms (in trucks & cars) as per prior footage on utube..

at 0.24. Guardian BDMS present in car, from May 17th.

It does seem to be coming together now, SM of course advised us about Merc in that RNS on 17 June 21. GM (and I guess Ford with their equivalent) putting out plenty of models with a super cruise option next year, BMW on the horizon and Stellantis with level 3 in 2024.

I know SM are collaborating with Collins Aerospace, as per that RNS from last Nov.
This article from the other day, in relation to the work Collins are doing with a military partner, is quite interesting. I think there's a hint in the article that tech such as eye tracking could be incorporated in to modern military aircraft, providing what is v expensive technology, with sustainability through upgrades. At least, that's how I interpreted it!

Our guardian system, from April 15, this time in a Volkswagen autonomous car at 0.35!

Didn't notice this before. This vid from 4th April, from waymo, our BDMS in a cab with driver. I don't what proportion of these cabs have drivers and which don't, but hopefully SM will be getting lots of custom down this route in future

Back on the subject of trucks. I'd forgotten that waymo are collaborating with Daimler on SAE level 4 trucks. It does seem that the human drivers won't be totally disappearing any time soon!

Has our guardian logo on at 1:09

Thought this might interest folks, from 1st April 22. Our DMS seems to be present at 1.21. Don't know how much penetration DMS can have here, waymo's goal is obviously fully autonomous, but that will surely be quite a long road. Great to see what I believe is Guardian BDMS though.

The activity of cental banks over the past 2 years has been quite crazy. According to a proffesor I saw interviewed a few days ago, he and a colleague estimated that the number of US dollars put in to circulation these past 2 years had increased by over 40%! All because of a flu type virus we're supposed to believe. How convenient.
The invasion is certainly a big concern. It's terrible that innocent people are losing their lives and helps put in to perspective for me that there are far more important things in life than money. I hope a resolution can be reached and quickly.
Didn't want to get on to the suject of the panemdic tbh, it's still a political hot potato, but I came down with the bat bug last Wednesday. I didn't take the shot - call me a fool if you like, but this 49 year old is very fit with a BMI of 21. If i'm honest, i've had a lot worse and it felt like influenza lite for just 48 hours. I'm good enough to go back to work in body & mind, but still showing as positive, so hopefully not much longer. I hope the pandemic end is now in view as it has cuased so much division these last 2 years and tbh honest at times I've wondered if the west was headed on the path to authoritarianism. I hope all those fears that I have had are now behind us.
An incredible number of cars sold in china last year. Lets hope that going forward most of them have DMS from Seeing Machines!
