I also think it's camera based DMS on the Golf, Polo etc (Advanced driver attention & drowsiness monitor). In contrast to the ID3, which I guess is the steering wheel based stuff (Driver alert system, fatigue detection).
Nice spot that seeing2020. I'd got to thinking we were only going to be in VW EV platforms based on a post from Colin back in Jan, but you can clearly see 'Advanced driver attention & drowsiness monitor' under the Golf petrol vehicles.
Hopefully, we get in a decent number of vehicles with both VW and BMW. Who knows where we stand with Ford Bluecruise.
The soul destroying thing about being invested here - over 10 years now - is still not knowing where & when our tech is being implemented. A case in point is Colin's comments about Ford, I thought we were exclusive there yet apparently smarteye have a slice of that cake too. The question always seems to be, after all these years, where is our tech going and how quickly is it going to get there.
I keep checking utube. I'm seeing plenty of BMWs etc that appear to have what I believe is our DMS. Yet despite us going in to new VW electric models, any trace of our tech seems to be as elusive as rocking horse ****.
I'm also wondering how many of these electric models will be built, that our tech is supposedly going to be present in. Is this electric car tech really the future? Does anyone watch the Macmaster on utube? I don't want an electric car personally. Can't afford one anyway, this **** investment has seen to that.
And don't get me started on aviation!

Seize - your valeo link looks like a new oem win for SM and of course the rise in SP seems to support that. There were some in the know about the magna win at the back end of 2021, but it was a wee while before SM announced it!

Looks a mixed bag this, from a DMS perspective. But a bit negative for semi autonomous at the moment in terms of safety rating. Different features sets are surely deployed for DMS, with Ford scoring better than GM
A positive note at the end - “there is a silver lining. No single system did well across the board, but in each category at least one system performed well. That means the fixes are readily available and, in some cases, may be accomplished with nothing more than a simple software update.”
Well, if we're in a decent number of BMWs from OS 8 onwards, this must be us at 9.12 (there's also clearly a camera in the instrument cluster if you watch earlier in the vid)

Lots of moaning about DMS here. Thank **** we're in the interior mirror in many cases. Looking at some of the comments, which aren't the best informed imo, I'm not surprised the likes of VW are keeping quiet about incorporating our infrared DMS.

It does look like they have the option to switch off the tech in VW cars (I'm assuming some of those new 2024 VW cars on utube contain our DMS and not steering wheel DMS), though how long that will last I don't know. It did of course take many years for seat belt use to become mandatory.
It requires hands on wheel at speeds over 38mph apparently. Now makes me wonder if this is SM.

Level 2 semi autonomous package is an option here according to the vid, so DMS is surely SM. I suppose the question is whether DMS is present in all these mini vehicles, or depends on whether you've selected level 2 driving package? Hopefully the former is the case.

It's slow but things are progressing, certainly on the auto side.
Just came across this vid of our tech in a BMW, from 2.10 mins in. Seems the tech is an option on a few BMW models now, hopefully more to come.

It took years for that tech to flourish also. I remember that original RISC processor being introduced back in 1988, when I was in my teens, in the Acorn Archimedes. I was a humble Acorn Electron owner at the time, I still have that old computer in my house somewhere.
Bluecruise gross margins are supposedly running at 70% for Ford, so this may incentivise them to roll out in to cheaper cars. 260,00 cars on the road with this tech as of several months ago, estimates for 500,000 additional cars by end of 2024. Hopefully that trend continues for 2025, things have taken an age here (in part because of the horse**** of 2020/21 let's not forget), but to my eyes the company is looking well placed at the moment. Certainly better placed than our rivals, with our auto programs actually kicking in whilst they have perhaps a bit of a longer wait.
