Owning oil shares brings Trump's antics sharply into focus - if the world does go into recession next year he will be to blame - totally!!!

Its far from clear what will happen tomorrow - the uncrossed trade was 9.5p but that was followed by the auction and two price monitoring extensions - the shorts were clambering to get out after Trump's tweet but it is not clear how successful they were, so we will have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if the action continues.
Anyway, this should be a green light for investors to get back in, so we may see a healthy rise in the morning but don't count on it - nothing is certain until it happens.

The point is that the price of Brent is heavily influenced by Trump's tweets and in return Enquest's SP is heavily influenced by Brent so I for one will continue to comment on macro economic fallout from his comments.

As for getting things right, I repeat, comment based on intuition and comment based on pure economic forecasts has an equal chance of being right or wrong all the while politicians are making decisions - especially Trump.

Trump has effectively kicked the ball forward again - he has exempted some Chinese products from his tariffs until 1st December - in other words a truce - plenty of time to get the bonds away now.

I think that the bonds will certainly be sold.

But my main concern is that with the uncertain economic climate and the reduced timescale SM may take the decision to issue convertible bonds - this outcome now seems to have been priced into the SP.

I think that oil supply is just one factor that influences the price of oil and from the point of view of oil traders the least important unless a critical situation evolves.

The oil market is simply driven by current events and fear of what is around the corner or maybe more to the point what is perceived as being around the corner.

It looks like the offload finished at about 12.30 - so that's 29 hours - slightly longer than normal.

Draught is 12.7m so probably a 500-550k load.

The thing is when you do a sideways move - sell one investment that is under priced for another one that is under priced - you are simply spreading your risk without taking a hit with your capital - you may want to wait until the situation is clearer at SM but I should certainly consider the option. Trump will always push down Brent all the while he is in power and if that is for another 4 years God help us all!

SM will get the investment they need - the concern at the moment is the time frame, macroeconomic conditions and further dilution - hence the current SP. I am not sure about Thomas Cook but I understand they have some firm options.
With regard to PMO, they could still be languishing at around the 70p mark - or lower - in 12 months time - simply because of Brent. I am not saying PMO is a bad investment but sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate - it is probably a good idea to broaden your investments rather than just investing in one company. You have an ideal opportunity to do that now - this is a great entry point for new investors to SM.

Yes, I guess a lot of potential investors are sitting and watching at the moment.

I think that Eurochem are having a pop at ICL - the current threat comes from them re Polyhalite and their sales are rather good - rather than SM - I guess it shows that Eurochem are worried about the effect Polyhalite is starting to have on their business - great news!!!
