The share price is not up because of takeover speculation. It’s is up BECAUSE OF A BULLISH UPDATE. I’m sorry for the capitals.
The takeover activity may lend some support but fact is that takeover activity in the sector has gone on all year basically. The mks share price didn’t move until the bullish update wiped off the pride of sellers and the negative uk traders who priced this asset completely wrong. And let’s face it, markets were wrong here, many other bargains available. One needs to look into facts and expect to look further than just two weeks. London market has become way too short sighted proven by the recent share price activity. Well done those of you who saw past the muppets.

I don’t want to jinx it but it appears to me that the market is looking ahead by two weeks, or less.
The share price may be on the up due to half year results on the on September 7th. There will be some who realise that the dividend is going up.
So London market is capable of looking two weeks ahead! I hope I’ve not jinxed it now.
Can someone please educate these traders who think they know what they doing- but don’t.
Look at marks and Spencer’s how the muppets sold it down to 130p with absolutely no justification.
The good thing is, we can take advantage of these markets that price assets completely wrong.

Edmunds article has a few basic mistakes, like he has mixed up 2020 August 18th update with 2021 update on August 20th. That mistakes makes it extremely confusing reading, in the it feels like waste of time.

Valueplay got this wrong, kept backing up ocado at £25-30 per share. On one year view ocado is down 19%.
Marks and Spencer is up 54% on a one year chart.
So ocado was a good investment at one time but not anymore. Valueplay didn't rate mks as a buy at 85p!
So utterly clueless. Ocado I say is worth around £15-20.
It's had it's time.

The opposite seems more likely, they want the share price to go up, and sluggish broker is not going to help.
I rather have leadership that wants the sp up, it's a good indicator of leadership who knows what the ought to be doing. So I'm sure the buys below £4 are shortly going to look like "a bargain" or a "no brainer".

Waitrose loss is marks& Spencer gain.
They didn't want to do business with Ocado on fair terms, they now suffer for that bad decision. Mks benefits, a good fair partner and the stake MKS has, is now double the initial investment, like Neil pointed out.

That debt reduction over the over leases is another piece of good news building up. Thanks Neil!

I would be absolutely super pleased if we get a dividend announced on November. However, I do not wish too much spent on it, max 33% of profits. The credit upgrade is the priority along with the turnaround plan.

These trades only make sense if they are delayed reports.
There are further trades that take place in the dark pool, those deals make take even longer to come to light.
I suspect a few of these "sell" trades were definitely buys. It's clear there was pretty heavy buying pressure which lasted all the way till close. If you were a large buyer, indeed you wanted a delayed trade reporting or dark pool trading, the easiest way to get price cheaper than otherwise possible. I suspect it's going to jump again on Monday.

And what is a 64k shares at 152p?
You could easily sell that amount on a one go at 162.5-163p before close.

Why the trades at 158p?
Surely they could get a better price when the sp is 162.8
