Gas, oil prices are retacing but they did rise quickly, so let's wait + see. The c e o was spouting about being positive overall + kept on about the bigger picture. He said a few months back he saw dividend rises in the coming 5 years I think. So let's hope that happens asap. The big share buy backs aren't having much positive impact as far as I can gauge.

On the whole, what with the recent results. You'd expect a call from £2 50 . So no real surprise. Shell usaul rises in to the fall. Trump is gonna move heaven & earth & China it seems to get ready elected + I here constantly on c n b c that in October he will start is juggernaut rolling for the Oct 2020 election in u s a. Balance that with China, trump war. Iran still making noises + of cause the Brexit situation. Surely everyone now knows there isnt a Brexit of any type. So on October 31st will the market crash. Well I've long been saying shell needs it's next results update, well whens that. Oh yes it's October 31st. You couldn't script write it. The one thing with oil is it's always in the news & changing on a daily basis. What with , suadis, Iran, Russia, USA, OPEC & the rest theres always a story to move the oil stocks up or down. Just topped up, so bound to go down now. October 31st will be a momentous day, but in what way no one can predict imo.

Might have missed the boat. I held shares at £23.20 b4 so if a retracement down tomorrow I will top up.

Hi, you usaul get a retrace ment down when she'll goes ex Divi. I'm gonna see over the next week to see how it goes, but anywhere near £22 I will top up. With all the trump , China, fit for that it could run down further. The dollar has risen sharply of late, so more Divi. Trump wants to get re elected so by October he needs to start giving the yanks some incentives to get back in. But until then I think the games will continue. Usually shell historically is higher at this time of year + into the autumn.

Hi, I think it will go £22.50 ex Divi. It's ex Divi tomorrow so down 37p down tomorrow. So sub £23 is a gimme. I'm hoping for £22.50 to get back in. But the markets seem to be in a downward spiral now. Recession being touted, . No Brexit , trump China meltdown. So it's a difficult time to expect huge upside. But what do I know.

I'd wait till it goes ex Divi in a week. It will fall back after ex Divi imo so I'm waiting for £22. Dow down sharply again, so no prizes for guessing the trend. £22 may be a good entry point , but only time will tell. Oil is always in the news , so it's a bit of a helter skelter ride buying oil shares.

The share buy backs seem to have no affect to share price anymore. Seems to be buybacks weekly but doesn't seem to make any difference to share price anymore. It will fall next Thursday at open 37pish, but what the price will be anyone's guess. I'm waiting for low £22 then add.

I wouldn't bank on it. This is going down. I'm waiting for £22, but maybe lower imo. Dollar very strong, so oil cheaper in USA. Over supply is affecting the oil price. Maybe demand is tampering off somewhat. I'd say not a time to be buying unless you want the next Divi or a long time holder + hope that all the negative news will blow over when trump ramps up the positive Twitter posts post October to curry favour with u s voters. Oil is always in the news one way or another, good or bad . £22 is my get in, but could be a mistake but time as I always say will tell .

Hi, can't see any real improvement until next update which I believe to be early November. Last week must of took most by surprise. Going ex Divi on the 15th August, so will open down 37p . I'm waiting for £22 or thereabouts. But with all the macro news now looking negative can't see to much upside imo. Trump is a law into himself so he's capable of causing world war 3 at anytime. He won't back down no matter what the consequences of his actions. The China tit for tat will continue untill he he's re-elected or not. No Brexit also in play, but how that will play out on the stock market is is anyone's guess. Shell was £14 3 years ago, with oil prices at $17. Can't see that but maybe £40 will be tested. So may be time to baton down the hatches. With the dollar being so high at present against the £ & € , we will get a little more Divi. But of course your shares will be falling alot more, so scant conciliation imo. Whatever share I buy will fall, even though this is one of the best on the index in most people's opinions. C e o said a few weeks ago that company was looking to hike Divi but nowt forthcoming , yet more share buy backs but stock market seems to take no notice of this. No one seems to take no notice now of Iran sanctions now. So untill some news of better figures I don't see much upside. I could be wrong. Some one on here said this should be £30 to £32 all things considered. 2 reasons it won't reach these levels. 1, I own the share

Hi, I could be wrong , but I rarely am. This will be back down to around £22 by the time the dividend is paid imo. Having spoke to other family members & reading other message boards some people agree to.
Need to get to the November update imo, but then there will have been no Brexit, when was there ever. This could be lower. That could be offset by trump giving out to the USA in October to get in their good books for the next election. That's been the opinion of all pundits on CNBC the last few months. Of course these are the same pundits who previously predicted trump had no chance of being president & there would be a Brexit. Yeah right. The stock market is part of the establishment. In other words corrupt . So they know there is never gone be a Brexit. If no Brexit deal is catastrophic how come the stock market is nearly at it's all time high. Cause they've known all along there is never gonna be a Brexit. Mark Carney said he will stay as the guvenor of the bank of England till Brexit is achieved. God, he'll still be here in 2075 then . Hi, in my experiences , what c e os say & do are 2 completely different things. Talks cheap. Look at b p a few years back. Huge explosion at one of their oilfields, dividend soon disappeaed for a period. Look at Vodafone , same sentiments issued by the incoming c e o, well what do you know, Divi slashed. As in life as in shares no one can guarantee you anything. You never know what is around the corner or what news you'll wake up to, regards shares. Sorry to sound negative but that's the real world . Warren buffet , that cretin, says the longer you hold shares in a company the better the investment. Well from some one who's held Tesco, Sainsbury's, Vodafone etc etc, that wasn't the case. As I always say you can only judge from one day to the next. Time will tell.

I know the dividend is 0.47 cents , but as the sterling amount been declared as yet. I know they take the average from around this time.

I doubt a takeover is imminent, but if things carry on in this vain, it's a good possibility imo. As for ratio, or etc etc, not sure I fully understand. But when the vultures circle video, it may not be pretty, that's what history as shown me. As for nick read, I feel slightly sad for him as he's only been in the c e o position for a short period. This now looks a likely takeover target, imo. There's lots of positives to Vodafone + the vultures will circle overhead. Telecoms is a very competitive market + all providers have cut their clothes accordingly. When I owned Sainsbury's + Tesco shares people said on these boards , people have to eat. Yes but not at those two, as Aldi & Lidl, gobbled up their clients. Same now with telecoms. I for one feel sorry for everyone who's holding at high price & seeing their investment fall.
