We conducted exploration activities in relation to the Chilubane, Dongane and Jangamo mineral sands prospects in Mozambique – collectively known as the Mutamba Project – under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of the Republic of Mozambique from 2015 to 2018.

In line with this MoU, Rio Tinto and Savannah Resources Plc and AME East Africa Limited (a subsidiary of Savannah) agreed to establish the Mutamba Project Joint Venture to develop the resource.”

Our Chairman’s recent £40k option investment is looking inspired. I consider folks buying in at these levels extremely lucky. I’ve been buying in steadily since 2014 and my average is still about 4p. Only a short matter of time before that is also overhauled. I wonder if there is a whiff of news in the air?

Not surprised to see the buying with the chart showing “true value” of 10-12x current valuations.

I do agree that an offtake agreement for our Li will be transformational and is not built into the SP but we need the resource fully defined via a PFS before we can strike the best deal. This year is likely to be very significant on that front but I am happy to wait another 2-3 years to achieve most of our potential. I hope you guys with doubts will still be around to celebrate but that’s really a matter for you. Matthew King is well placed to make a judgment of whether an investment of £40k at 2.7p will make him money so I’m taking his confidence as a hint of what’s to come.

While I sympathise with your frustration of not making immediate riches, I can’t agree with your comments. I see no evidence of SAV being behind the curve, by which I assume you mean too late into production? I think there is just as much chance that production will coincide with a general Li supply deficit from all I read as EV take up is a bit slow? As the primary European supplier I see no difficulties in obtaining funding.
Moz and Oman have been waiting for licence issue so not a conscious choice to set aside. We currently own just 20% of Moz, Rio Tinto the majority share so I can’t see any lack of resource here. When Rio want the mineral sands it will be full steam ahead. Oman is almost too small to worry about either way but has some sales value. SAV has concentrated on Portugal and rightly so in my opinion!

Again nice to see the sustained buying and price rise today - clearly folks can see there is plenty of upside here in 2020.

Nice to see some money flowing in! SP is back to where we were 1 month ago! One more Moz licence to be issued any day now then a PFS completion to add 75% to our ownership share of Mutamba! 4.4bn tones at 3.9%! Offtake agreement in place with Rio Tinto and mineral sands prices rising. What’s not to like?

Must at least be a wake-up call for Rio to remind them to diversify their country risk? The plant may restart but I wonder if they are rethinking the wisdom of further investment in Richards Bay? Using the income to invest in 80% owned Mutamba may be a better strategy?

We are being given permission to mine 4.4 Billion Tonnes of heavy mineral sands in partnership with Rio Tinto and some are asking what the licence fee is? Once again I find myself quoting Oscar Wilde “A cynic is a man who knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing!” Spare me the details!

I have always assumed the ownership % is automatic on completion of the PFS? If Rio wants to fast-track development of Mutamba and exercise its option of buying out SAV beforehand then “can” no longer applies?

Now that production has halted, the funds will not be created? That aside, I believe Rio has about 1/3 of the TiO2 pigment market, largely supplied by Richards Bay, so are unlikely to let that disappear? I would imagine they are doing some serious Plan B work at the moment and the door to production opening in Mutamba must be a timely gift? All considered, my money would be on a Rio fast-track to production in Moz, with or without their 20% Project partner. Either way this should be good for SAV and our current almost unbelievable undervaluation.

Punj, I think you are confusing the Moz licences with the Oman licence fees issue? I don’t know what we paid Mozgov for the licence but it will have been worth it.

Regarding funding, Rio own 80% of the project and are facing a huge problem with their Richards Bay project where a $460 million expansion has been put on hold following lethal violence in the local communities. Could see this being redeployed to Moz to fast-track the Mutamba project. Would be the wrong time for Rio to face supply problems with the price of mineral sands products up 20% since the summer already. Could actually see them buying us out in a flash at the agreed many multiples of our costs before we complete the PFS.
