I don’t get involved in the general to and fro on here which is generally amusing although it arises from polar opposites of opinion. The serious side of this debate is that many of us have significant sums invested in the outcome of the current negotiations. I have just had a quick tot up of 5 million shares in my different platforms. ( I have not heard any of the regular “knockers” declare any positions so make of that what you will).
Although my current average buying price is above the current SP I have every confidence in the ARCM board to finalise an agreement with AA and with the help of the progressive new administration in Zambia to deliver an outstanding project.

The US appetite for lithium isn’t limited to US mines. See the European Lithium deal to form Critical Metals listed on Nasdaq. Even though it has a supply agreement with BMW, there is no sign of any European Union funding or grants as far as I can see. And this the first fully permitted European producer . The EU is just too slow to act on all fronts and Portugal is just too small and weak to act on its own. The Uk is broke , investors are risk averse and AIM seems disinterested in good news these days. Our best bet is either part ownership with cash -rich Fortescue or the like, a US or Aus listing. Of course we need permits and a local refinery partner as a pre requisite. Dale needs to get a move on.

The elephant in the room is the lack of chips to supply the myriad of embedded computing systems in EVs meaning they still can’t build cars no matter how much subsidy is available. The US is addressing the problem having passed the CHIPS Act recently pouring $billions at the problem ( as well as trying to keep China’s hands off key producer Taiwan). Add lithium undersupply into the mix and you can see why both VW and Ford are reluctant to build new capacity. I have a strong feeling that they will all be looking for a concession to continue building ICE vehicles after the deadline to phase them out.

What, the same Europe that allowed itself to become totally reliant on Russian gas and oil? Surely they wouldn’t make a similar mistake again with China …..or would they?
The car companies have no backbone either and think it’s easier just to buy batteries from China or as in the case of BMW’s electric Mini, let them make the whole damn car! Try to buy a RHD Tesla that isn’t made in China - you may wait for ever to get a German made one. I think they have all succumbed to expediency?
I suspect the lithium mining protest movement realises they are pushing against an open door and have decided to focus on oil again. It’s much more fun when you can tell the hover to “frack-off”, perch on bridges, stop the traffic and watch the fireworks explode?
So where does this all leave SAV? No better or worse than before I suggest. Someone will buy the lithium, most likely our local Portuguese refinery if it ever gets built. If not then the Chinese? Meanwhile we stand and wait.
Ps my local Kia dealer offered to buy my EV6 for more than I paid for it in April. Apparently the price has gone up £6k! Probably my best investment this year. You can also use it to boil a kettle - very handy during power cuts! Hey ho!

As IB says I think it unlikely they show their faces in Europe again any time soon.

Hopefully we are too small for them to bother with. They were a dead weight as a partner in Mozambique- sat on the asset for years, let us do all the work, then bought us out cheap. We can do this ourselves I hope.

The world is made up of optimists and pessimists, the proportions fluctuating based on life experiences I would imagine. The optimists and the patient pessimists make for good investors in a share like this. It doesn’t really matter which one you are as long as you are still here keeping the faith. While we wait, a little moaning is, I believe, perfectly acceptable.
