RE: Czech lithium press conference25 Aug 2021 12:15
Most interesting part from press:
"In the preliminary feasibility study, we had it that we would extract 35 million tonnes of rock in 20 years, about 1.7 million tonnes per year," said Pavel Cmelík, director of the CEZ development project management unit.
According to him, experts have already stated that if there is interest, the recoverable part may be significantly higher. Annual production of 22,500 tonnes of lithium hydroxide is expected, and in 20 years it could be 500,000 tonnes of lithium product. According to Cmelík, the price of lithium hydroxide is currently around $15,000 per tonne.
Underground mining is planned at Tinovec, with the ore to be crushed directly at the mine. It has not been decided where the processing plant will be located. According to Benes, there are no obstacles to mining and the project still appears to be profitable.
