We used to build warships on the Mersey at Cammell Lairds , we also had a steel works at Shotton on Deeside . The Ark Royal comes to mind. Now Liverpool City Council are building a new ferry boat to cross the Mersey from Pier Head to Birkenhead , and wow , not to be built at Cammell Lairds , who are more than capable of doing it , but to be built in Holland ! The madness of this Country has no bounds . What the hell is wrong with us.?

I am on the same wavelength as you , and also I did not get a penny out of the Covid crisis. Amazing what I have been accused of by this person calling themselves Motbuck. ALL I SAID WAS if King Charles wants his Coronation , he should finance it through his own resources . The Queen died , and there was no inheritance tax liability , he has sold 100 of her racehorses , and yet we the taxpayer continue to fund this Monarchy. It is time to reign in this extravagance . I see elderly people struggling on their pensions trying and make ends meet . Am I wrong to state that this is unacceptable.

I am fully aware of what Charles stated , so do not need to do homework . Whether you like it or not it will entail vast amounts of police, security , road traffic controls etc, not to mention the carbon footprint of guests from around the World coming to the event. I am making the point that the tax payer should not foot the bill .

I am greatly worried how the forthcoming Budget will affect our share price. We are briefed that we will all have to pay for this governments disasters . But on another point , where is the money coming from to pay for Charlies Coronation ? We tax payers should stand up and be counted , and say if he wants his lavish Coronation , he should pay for it , we cannot afford it.

I drove along the Dock Road area in Liverpool yesterday all derelict buildings and derelict docks apart from Container port at Seaforth , , which were once thriving businesses .Tate and Lyles went, J Bibby taken over by Cargill ,Harland and Wolf gone , Union International gone . Into the Commercial City area , Royal Sun Alliance gone , Liver Buildings virtually empty , Cunard Building empty , Liverpool Daily Post and Echo gone , need I go on. It saddens me to see the state of the nation.

When this goes into foreign hands , which it should not , is there anything which is British left worth having ? No wonder we are the laughing stock of the World .

To get business from our Supermarkets the buyers in my day took wads of cash off us , that was the only way to get the contract. Every morning we get up , look at yahoo news , and then , come onto this site. No good news just more threats day after day , no wonder people are getting mental health problems. Only good news today , we have Asda now offering a £1 deal in November and December for soup, a roll and unlimited coffee and tea to keep the old and hungry fed. What the hell has happened to our Country , and our World , how have mad men and women been allowed to take us over ? Come on Market and Lloyds , please rise today , and cheer us all up.

We need industry ! Ship building , car making , battery making , pharmaceuticals . and most of all electronics and chip making. No more reliance on foreign products from Countries like India and China supporting Russia.

Obviously was yet another Angina attack , so GTN tablets and aspirin taken. Side effect of GTN are blinding headache , but better than half an hour with the undertaker.
