All of this spiralling negative debate can only lead to a further undermining of the company, it's share price and the likelihood that its ultimate value will be negatively affected.

You could teach the more quixotic amongst us some valuable lessons. Ball deep and still tilting at windmills seldom gets the desired results.........

If they are acting as a management 'team', which appears doubtful, they should bear collective responsibility. The thought of RY being responsible for the TEO will give me nightmares - he's done his bit, he got the Tonka toys to site, he fuelled up the rigs, he drilled the holes and sent away the samples for analysis. Extent of skillsets exhausted.

As to AH, he's shown himself to be a deal doer and an adequate communicator - it's really him we need to be hearing from if the Australian Iron Ore deal is not to be seen to be a one hit wonder.

As to depressing the share price, AH's missus needs to get back in cheap! How else will next months' bills be paid..........and its a long month......and think of the cost of all that Christmas shopping - no free deliveries and returns to and from the back end of Amur - poor woman must be cr**ping herself ;-)

I agree that in themselves the figures arising from both RNS's are of little concern. It is the underlying implication and message that IS.

If the iron ore play continues to require funding top-ups and we're in no position to participate then our values will be eroded, as pointed out earlier. As to Habib's wife's stunt and its timing, that's just crass stupidity if they care as to how small matters can paint a negative picture.

A lot of ifs and buts here this morning and perhaps a wake-up call to those who may expect massive jam tomorrow - this is more of a Del and Rodders play - one day.........................

Having listened to the Habib interview, I see the logic behind the investment. Fingers crossed that the Fe comes out of the ground soon, the market remains strong and the Sino-Oz relationships are healed quickly.

The synergies appear good and relationships with Glencore can only be good, potentially. We need not to read too much into this link initially. I'm still a little sceptical that 19% is available and why would others not see the potential at such a relatively low cost of entry into the opportunity.

If this appears a little 'glass half full', it is.

Couldn't agree more. My understanding (hope) was that Habib was bought in to explore the opportunities to develop AMC's core activities through M&A, offtake, JV, etc, not to diversify into a wholly different market and to feather his family's nest whilst he's at it. I fear that naive old RY has been duped.

As to the deal itself, it makes no sense whatsoever that the likes of Glencore put an ore deal in AMC's direction for what, to them, is a pittance. Beware a deal that appears too good to be true, as it usually IS! I fear that the current Sino-Oz tensions may have implications here.

This appears a silly diversion from the core business, a desperation measure, and an unwanted smokescreen for who knows what.

Am I missing something?

It is great when the share price is rising and consolidating and so I'm not complaining, but the manipulation appears breathtakingly blatant.

A person with 'followers' must know what he's talking about.

One or two have come and gone - the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

Many of us have long argued the case that whilst RY knows his way around a drill bit, use of Tonka toys out in the woods and a geological analysis, the commercial skills surrounding M&A, JV, Off-take, etc. are a wholly different world for which skilled and experienced advisors are critical.

It's disappointing that there was a few days of uncertainty for LSE investors and the usual grumblings and market volatility in the last few days, however, what better time to attract investment than with a discount against OMV coupled with the likely rise into the spud, irrespective of success or failure.

Balance sheet strengthened with a few more quid in the bank and only a 3.4% dilution. Compared with some shyster AIM companies, I'll take that.

I have no doubt in the general positive message and thank you for some of the links. It's the interpretation and extrapolation of what is actually said in them that concerns me. Quit the barbs!

The article is an overarching macroeconomic statement about the development of the Far East. It does NOT make any statements about specific projects, there is no mention of Amur and certainly no mention of the road w require being paid for.
Cut the blatant ramping and stick to the facts!

There's not a great deal to take solace from here at the moment. For me, the only ray of hope is that the new boy, Bowens, appears to have the right track record and experience in the areas we desperately need and at least he's had the decency to tip in a few quid - would he have done that in a cash strapped business with no hope of survival, at best, likely to be sold for a peppercorn? Logic would suggest no, but then again logical reasoning and thought in AMC don't exactly appear to be a key attribute within AMC. Let's hope he not small and furry with a propensity to jump off cliffs............... ;-)

I think we're placing too much emphasis on an NDA or otherwise. If one exists and a deal was being formulated, I suspect the company would not need Bowens. I agree with Sasa that his appointment is a major step forward and at least he's had the good grace to make an investment.

Perhaps we should sit on our hands for a while and allow Bowen to do what he appears to do best, much as it's frustrating that we are unable to hold RY and the others to book for their incompetence, failed promises and false dawns.

As a long term investor and, more recently, an occasional contributor, I have to agree with your post. I was critical of the geologist who availed us of every move when it came to the technical detail of the drilling season, where we were up to and every last detail of progress, reaching from (almost) the serial number of every piece of Tonka toy equipment employed and the quantity of pizzas delivered to sustain the drillers through another season, how many gallon of fuel delivered over the ice road, etc., etc................... to.................zilch.

I don't particularly wish to add to the doomsday theorists' who may consider that RY's succumbed to something unpleasant, but see the limited news outflow as something arising, potentially, from a gag. From even the dullest information only a construction plant geek may want to hear, to nothing at all, may suggest there may be something afoot. Then again, he may just be updating his plant & spares spreadsheet and recording the serial numbers of every bit of kit on the asset register - lucky him! That might keep him quiet whilst scoffing the now-out-of-date pizza mountain?!

The alternate view is that he's been gagged, not on a dodgy pizza slice, but a prospective deal or two and a genuine NDA .

Here's hoping for the latter, evidenced by the appointment of some business folk experienced in the field, but particularly in M & A.
