The board did say that they would strike the best deal for shareholders and it's my belief that this is it. All appraisal work for the coming season covered plus a small contingency.
There was always going to be a trade off between a small dilution and confirmation of prospects and this is it. As has already been stated, the offer at 65pence ought not to be an issue and the dilution will be optimal.

No evidence of arrangement or exit fees - usually attached.
Seemingly arranged at relatively short notice - premium usually attached.
Relatively small sum over a relatively short period - investor would normally look for a good return of £/pence, rate of interest of lesser consideration.
Some comparators being quoted here are not necessarily like-for-like. Most probably in terms of security or business type/stage of development.
IMO rate and terms Ok and takes heat out of ongoing negotiations to secure the next stage.
On balance, not worth the argument.
