I'd phrase it a little differently and suggest that Willow is the only viable hope, unless, of course, we all expect that the current oil price hiatus is going to last, in which case, I suspect, we'll all have much bigger long term issues to deal with.

Let's face it, WITHOUT Willow the distance to market and length of pipeline (circa 95miles) is cost prohibitive, irrespective of the hype here. WITH Willow there's a big negotiation to be had with Conoco on the royalty cost of using their infrastructure (if it's ever built), and should Willow ever happen. Even with Willow there is an infrastructure cost of circa 20 miles of pipeline to get to Willow

I share a view and it is not irrespective of circumstances it is a view I have long considered taking into account the circumstances. That you consider it a negative view is your prerogative, but it is also my prerogative to continue to express my view. Let's agree to differ on what you consider to be a swipe at 88e investors. I think you need to go back and re-read the words.
So my view is not only negative but 'disruptive'. It is neither. It is my view and is simply labelled as you do, as it doesn't conform to your view.
As to your last line, it is simply ignorant and falls into the trap of others here who resort to such behaviour simply because they disagree. They simply can't, or can't be bothered, to argue the point and so 'play the man' and not the ball so to speak.

I'm nobody's cheerleader.
Merely as I agree with the views of others on certain subjects unpalatable to the general consensus on this site, leads the indoctrinated 'followers' to make that claim and you appear to be falling into their trap.
As with all things in life, there needs to be a balance of views and opinions.
That a certain individual expresses himself in a rather longer style than others shouldn't result in him being referred to as 'Essayboy'. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and they are entitled to express it in the way they consider appropriate.
The problem is that many dismiss the opinions of others in an abusive manner, simply because of style and most certainly as a result of alternate viewpoint. At the top of this page is the header 'Chat'. Everyone is therefore entitled to express themselves. Many with have a consensus view, but others do not.
There is a long history here over many years. To date it has been one of failure to achieve the objective of proving oil resources and certainly last year the SP was supported by a seemingly messianic group in the OTC forum which appeared to attach itself to this share. It is clear that many make money from the trading of this share whilst claiming the utmost faith in it. I question their motives. If what I say, even in the smallest way, assists in presenting a more balanced view than that of 'the herd' then good.
I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

It was only after Talitha demonstrated that there may well be true value in it, that anyone in these parts took notice. Even when DW finally identified it, few appeared to take notice. It was all about Merlin, that great hope out in the middle of nowhere and unlikely to be deliverable anytime soon. Now, suddenly everyone is talking up the Icewine possibilities as the great hope and desperate to demonstrate its value and how big a proportion 88e can conceivably justify.
Heaven help anyone who now reminds the bleating lost sheep of a few facts.
If it's not about fundamentals then why the sudden concentration on the joint asset?

You appear to be extrapolating your arguments to involve the views of others, including Scot126, some of who's points I agree with and others I don't - recent exchanges in the other place are testimony to that.
Perhaps the comment of 'reeling your neck in' now directly applies to you, as you simply appear to be spoiling for a fight.
I think we can agree that there's enough of that going on right now?

I think you'll find that my holdings in these companies started entirely the other way around.
As to Icewine, 88e didn't really have much of a clue what they had until the NN published the Talitha results but good luck to both. I think, as a relative newcomer, if you do your research properly you'll find it was the 88e board which were keen to highlight the positive impacts for 88e of the NN find.
Why let facts get in the way of a confused story?

Have you verified the B/E calculation? Some interesting numbers, but not easy to see where repayment of, worst case $9.7m (including all our dilutions) or best case $7.2m (net cash) is going to come from in 18 months, when last year 88e's share would have been $1.17 (pre-tax). That's one hell of a hike!
