It’s great that this part of the business has been sold for x the market cap is y and the offer values it at z - but the accounts are still unknown, and whether this disposal was already factored in (and at what price) is also unknown. TLW just disposed of an asset for $120m cash, market cap is only £221m, share price didn’t react to the news as their debt is also maturing and the sale will be used to pay debt. Not positive, not negative, just necessary. They could have sold it for more, or less, who really knows if they got what it was worth, certainly not me.
More assets, no cash and debt vs less assets, cash and debt, vs less assets, no cash, less debt, are little more than what number goes in which column on the accounts. You can’t count the same thing twice, asset value of the company has now gone down, however cash will go up as a result, and then that cash will go on reducing debt. Sidara may now not need to include as much of a cash injection but maybe they will feel they are not getting as much meat on their plate either.
