I will let the dust settle for now, I’ve got the smallest holding I’ve had in JD now for more than 6 months but I will certainly be building it back up again over the coming weeks if I get the chance to, and I will be equally happy if I don’t get the chance.

It all comes down to expectations, they have been extremely cautious with guidance and figures, and the obstacles and headwinds have been well publicised. To meet expectations in a highly demanding market, with organic growth and instruct another £100,000,000 buy back is obviously being viewed more favourably than a small drop in LFL.

I can’t believe I just got a 20k sell away at 98p feel like a criminal, I was expecting to try and pick up £10k at 88p 🤣🤣 might be regretting it later if it does jump up more but will be hoping for a low 90s entry.

Expectation was ‘ The group is currently predicted to reveal profits of around £890 million for the current financial year, down slightly on the previous year.’

It also needs to be seen in the context of last year being JDs ‘best ever record breaking interim results’ - back when the SP was £1.50. To come in 3% less than this with a 95p share price and the tariff/economic situation as it is, is quite good really. But I think the market reaction today might be disappointing, as is usually the case with anything other than excellent. I will buy on weakness and enjoy the effects of any buyback like last time.

No catastrophe, further share buyback plus on track for profit guidance might be enough to hold but can possibly see an early pull back to last weeks high 80s prices as it’s not a particularly exciting update.

Mid 80s again would be a gift for next year, £1 would be a gift for tomorrow. Win - win.

Medjed IIs don’t trade like posters here, they haven’t chucked 90% of their free cash into this for a bag and got stuck holding until maybe one day they have profit for the next punt. Woods will make up at best 0.5% of their fund, they have probably shorted some of it on the way down, and there comes a point where they will just see it in the same way companies see bad debt and be glad to get rid and have something back. With the possibility of administration and the stigma of being run by clowns into possible fraud and FCA investigations, I imagine the IIs can’t wait to see the back of it before their fund investors ask them why they are still holding junk.

Icecool you have all the information in front of you and all the tools you need to come to logical conclusion but unfortunately you have seen something shiny in the corner of your eye and can’t take your eyes off it even though on closer inspections it’s clear that a dog accidentally ate its owners glitter and you’re looking at what came out.

Anyone who has previously and continues to listen to icecool deserves to lose all their money, 30p a share is far too much compensation for their stupidity - and if they’re not careful they might just do that, as it sounds like the alternative is the lenders immediately call in debts that wood are unable to pay… and that will only mean one thing.

Management are right to be cautious given previous profit warning and current uncertainty, I suspect they will be less cautious towards the end of the year rather than in the middle, that was the mistake they made last year. Not expecting fireworks tomorrow but you never know, if it goes up that’s great and if it drops I’ll buy more.

£3 recovery to 30p offer, icecools predictions are looking about as useful as labours immigration policy.

The accounts must be really bad if the board are minded to accept a 30p offer, looks like last chance saloon before the creditors put this into forced administration and everyone loses their jobs/money.

Market rally on Powell speech but nothing to see here as the shares are suspended, another opportunity missed, ftse100 up 10% since this junk was locked up.

The last resistance of 88p took several attempts to break and hold and became the new support level, the next resistance is at 92p, broken but failed to hold x1, failed to break x1 but still at the upper end of that range until 92p clears or fails.

They didn’t say anything because they were one of the first companies to report financials following the liberation day tariffs, so they will have more of an idea this time. But yes Nike have given indications, and a lot of US retailers have been reporting quarterly earnings in line with expectations, with the expectation being mostly flat yoy. I think the uncertainty was worse than the outcome, especially with potential massive tariffs on Vietnam, China, Indonesia etc which have all but been resolved to manageable levels in the medium term. They are positioning themselves well to take advantage of next year, next week is a bit of a gamble because the market can be foolish on the day and overreact to anything that isn’t excellent, but long term this is an absolute no brainer with little risk beyond world war 3 or an economic catastrophe.

The update is either going to be good, bad or neutral and the price is either going to go up, down, or stay the same. In the last few years JD has exceeded expectations, met expectations and issued profit warnings. Your guess is as good as mine, I personally think UK will do well, in America people are still more cautious but retailers seem to be meeting or exceeding market expectations there. I would still rather be in than out at current prices vs potential upside, most of the big SP losses from the 90s at the start of the year were more to do with tariffs and significant amounts of uncertainty and timeframes of those rather than actual numbers.
