p100 - was always going to be interesting to see how today pans out. was it pump and dump or sentiment/something going on. ncyt not issuing a speeding ticket was good news in my book. i was dreading something at 9am...when the office opened up and they realised.

the market mechanics - means the MMs will need shares to balance their books and they do this by dropping the SP.... dropping the price can obviously set some panic in or encourage more buying.

i think the picture will be clearer this afternoon.

the MMs will drop the price - to encourage some selling. they have had to sell a lot of stock in the last few trading days and need to balance their inventory. the real tell will be later on today - to see if the buying frenzy returns or if the momentum has run out

for me the good thing was no speeding ticket being issued by the company.

harchris - i would suspect the biggest driver of an exodus from london is due to the sate...young families don't want kids going to school there....people getting older wanting a safer environment.
these are the reasons that i personally know for people leaving....of course if they can work from home this enables it to be more seamless.

i would still say they affect property prices. firstly demand for landlords (btl) to rent property and secondly a pool of people ready to buy if prices become at all affordable.

?..the laptop class are able to work from home....but your working class (shop workers/ delivery drivers/construction/ medical staff except GPs?/education etc) don't have that luxury

if prices are dropping it is more likely as a result of interest rates and the state of london these days

i would agree for the testing of that individual. also there are those who won't test or won't act on the results.
however it will slow down the transmission - if some of those infected are out of play.
it is also useful in activities at high risk - contact sports etc.

i have a serious hobby where they were still asking for proof of negative status - after testing was withdrawn. some places were more stringent than others...and i still caught it from one....but i did feel more protected than if there was nothing.
in the end i prefferred to catch it doing something i love rather than being in a work meeting or travelling on tube

Thailand, Japan, and Singapore are the most popular destinations for Chinese tourists. however there will be a significant number that will prefer to come to europe - being very different culture , history and art etc
prior to covid there were approx 10 million Chinese people are travelling to Europe yearly.

i think there is a lot more suspicion with the vaccine and so it is going to be a much harder sell in the future.. firstly it takes time to translate a current variant into a vax. as i understand it that was the problem when omicron came as vax based on alpha and delta were much less useful...and the boosters?...well how many got it after getting one?

secondly it is becoming more apparent that there are possible significant risks from the vaccine. i for one would not take mRNA.

i think making it mandatory - would be an indication of failure to sell it

the chinese travelling will be the affluent middle class etc. They have the money and desire to travel...coincide it with the chinese new year and there will be a hunger.
i was in italy feb 2020 when covid broke ...florence and pisa were heaving with chinese

whilst i agree the "luxuries" of the furlows and lockdowns are not affordable anymore..mass testing would be a cheaper strategy and show that the gov is doing something to protect us.
