Oil has dropped more than BTC today!
I might start buying some more BTC if this continues. It's going to be interesting to see if BTC behaves as a risk asset or not.

Guys - I'll let you in on a secret. Some other stocks are also down today...

10% drop is quite a reaction. Surprised at such a large drop, but the entire market seems to be in freefall.

@Contrarian. I share your sentiment. I'm going to wait and see if a NOMAD is appointed. Surely they need to make an announcement one way or the other, Monday at the very latest.

I did mention yesterday and many times before that CPI can have massive volatility. It fell 38% in a single day in the covid crash last year... but today looks like its worst day this year. Just bad luck unfortunately ...

@Fish: the 'beta' is just a very rough guide as to what to expect. I have a large position in CPI and nothing has (yet) changed in my outlook. The market is weak. That's clearly going to impact things here.

In ordinary circumstances, I would not have posted a CEO email reply to a public group like this, but I think it is essential to get it on the record, given the seriousness of the current situation and the complete disregard for my investment. I am not a big fan of losing large amounts of money or being forced to have my money tied up in a private company.

That email response has been filed with the FCA and with Aim Regulation. If INCE is taken private, it will become a serious matter.

CPI almost always moves with the FTSE (Beta is 6.9). Nothing unexpected here.

Obviously it will be impossible to pick the bottom, just as it was impossible to pick the bottom in the S&P500 last March. If you're risk-averse, you might want to wait for a few green daily candles, but I'm happy to be in now and am only adding from here.

BOO beats AMZN in many categories now.

Net Gearing is about the same for both companies. What does that tell you about the safety?

In essence, this is also an now an amazing Value opportunity, even though it's a Growth stock.

Incidentally, if you compare BOO and AMZN in Stockopedia, based on the latest balance sheet, profitability etc. BOO is the winner. This is now really exciting.

BOO is starting to look seriously cheap on a fundamentals basis.
Forward P/E (12m Forecast Rolling): 16.6.
Compare this to Amazon, P/E (12m Forecast Rolling): 70.

This is hardly expensive for a profitable, rapidly growing company without any debt.

Technicals do still look grim, but at some point large buyers will be stepping in. The lower it goes, the stronger the bounce off the bottom is going to be. I'm getting excited about adding a large wad into this.

Deribit is the main BTC options exchange. That figure sounds correct.

I don't believe it's just dropping because of that though. BTC is dropping because all other risk assets are... it could be a bloodbath on NASDAQ today; already is on most equity markets. I'm happy to only have a tiny position here atm.

I've read conflicting stories about the short-term direction of copper. Some say it's strong, others say that it's due for a reasonable drop, due to reduced demand from China. I've tossed a coin and stay bullish.

In my experience, this rarely impacts a share price...

Capita is not the 'new Tesla'. It's never going to be a sexy share. But it's dirt cheap compared to pre-covid and furthermore, the fundamentals have dramatically improved over the past year; mostly since early August.

I expect to still be here trading this share in 1-2y time...it has a long way to go and it's not going straight up. We've experienced a 38% daily drop- and a 30% daily rise over the last 2y; hint the Beta is 6.9. That's why it's profitable to trade.

What a day it would be if Elon Musk made an offer for the company!
Let's hope that he reads New Scientist.
