Just to clear up some confusion, Deloitte aren’t under investigation by the FCA.

The FCA’s current investigation is into Wood Group itself, following issues identified in Deloitte’s review.

Deloitte, on the other hand, is being investigated by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) over past audits of other companies e.g Glencore and Stenn, it got absolutely nothing to do with Wood Group at all.

Different regulators, different cases.

The car finance investigation is also separate and unrelated to Wood’s situation.

BP just announced its biggest oil & gas discovery in 25 years — 500m hydrocarbon column, 300km² reservoir, deepwater Santos Basin. Exactly the kind of complex project Wood thrives on.

Wood already operates in Brazil and has deepwater capability across FEED, engineering and O&M. With global upstream spend rising, this only underlines why 35p is a joke. The market is waking up — Sidara knows it too.

Carrot, I’m fully aware this is a public forum. Engaging in discussion is one thing, grandstanding in response to posts not addressed to you is another. You’re of course entitled to post, just as others are entitled to find it tiresome when every thread is derailed by your unsolicited lectures. As for filters, perhaps take your own advice, if people hoping for a better outcome offend your sensibilities so much, why not filter them instead of policing every bit of optimism? While I appreciate open discussion, unsolicited interjections, especially those that don’t add value can come across as disruptive. I’ve read many of your posts and, frankly, they often come across more as noise than insight.

Icecool, just out of interest (and I’m asking this question very genuinely) where do you see this business going and what share price do you think this business is worth. I’ve noted, and agree that it all depends on 2024 books which are currently being held back from public view. I agree with your opinions wholeheartedly but I don’t believe I’ve seen a statement where you have said what the business is worth. Thanks

Unless Sidara ups the bid significantly (toward 50p+), it will either:

• Walk away, or

• Be rejected by the board when accounts are published and the regulatory picture clears

This wasn’t ever a board-endorsed love letter — it was a procedural access card Sidara needed under Takeover Panel rules.

The market is slowly catching up to this reality — but smart money already sees the 35p bid as a placeholder, not a viable endgame.

Nothing dodgy here — just normal institutional behavior in a very unusual stock situation. If JP Morgan were making a directional play (e.g. taking a massive position and holding it), that might raise questions. But same-day in-and-out is almost certainly client-driven or market-making.

They closed their position almost immediately, what dark forces are we talking about??

WG.L is still likely to trade again, unless the accounts are a catastrophe and Sidara walks and lenders demand blood. That’s a worst-case triple blow, but there’s nothing to indicate that here
