This had already been said but I would properly concentrate on a handful of shares 5 or so, certainly less than 10, you can extend / reduce your portfolio as timings allow.
If you're research is thorough and you are 99.9% confident then bad news, or supposed bad news can be a buying opportunity but you have to know that company well.
De-risk when you can, it's good to be on a "free ride" where the final result won't impact on you if it's negative.
Read the BB's but don't initially get drawn in, use the information to further / guide your research, read something positive or negative? Go and look what is true, what the facts are.

Half year results 29th July...
There will be a dividend but at what level?
Will they issue a "full" dividend or play safe (and appease the government!) and issue a reduced divi then a "special" later this year?
We will have to wait until the 29th.....

Just wait until the next set of figures are released...
Lloyds Banking Group is making good money.

There only losses if you HAVE to sell.
Sit tight and at these prices there's a potential 8% yield next year....

I don't know why people feel the need to publish how many shares you hold but it would be better on ALL message boards if it was banned.
I'm not getting involved here because I don't know, or want to know the facts but holding huge amounts of shares proves nothing.
There is also the possibility that the quoted figures MAY be complete fabrication.
Far better to keep this (and all other message boards) to a discussion rather than a argument / willy waving BB.

The thing is common sense says the sp should be rising, the market (or MM's) decide otherwise....
No one can accurately "predict" where the share price will be, all you can do is either buy or sell depending on your research / other opportunities....

Patience is what is required here, although Lloyds shareholders have already been very patient!
There was no way the bank was going to come out after the restrictions were lifted and announce a special dividend, it would have given the wrong message. Far better to sit back and let the dust settle and tag it onto the upcoming results OR make a note of it and say that a special dividend will be issued say before Xmas, we will see...
There has been a string of bad news over several years, PPI, Brexit, Covid etc but hopefully the worst of it has past.
Obviously DYOR but with the SP in the "forties" and the resumption of proper dividends this IMO is a long term buying opportunity.

And now that we will hopefully start to receive "proper" dividend payments a double digit yield is possible on these shares.

Wholeheartedly agree with you here.
I have a large(ish) holding here and I was going to add massively at the end of March 2020, I think the announcement re the government guidance came just before my purchase and I was lucky enough to redirect the funds into a miner (BHP) but going back to the divi there should be a "special" dividend but I don't expect anything until the next results announcement.
There's a lot of shareholders who lost a significant amount of income because of this!

You MIGHT be a touch optimistic there, let's wait and see if lloyds announce a "special" dividend, then that may be possible.
Long term is looking more than positive though!

Probably a little dig at TW but there was more than one, Oilman Jim etc..............
I know for one they won't be scaring any shares out of me!

With the return of the divi, and a progressive policy there's no reason why they shouldn't return to those levels.
Lloyds is making a pile of money even with covid / low interest rates!

Lloyds is "awash" with cash and even if the dividend resumes to pre covid levels a SP of 45p doesn't make sense.
IMO the lack of Divi had forced many people to chase profits elsewhere but one sniff of a special dividend will bring them back.

COULD be a good time to buy. Not expecting a "fanfare" after the dividend cap is lifted, but there could well be an increased or special dividend later this year?
