I still hold my BHP in my certificated account and the monies are in my bank account today no problem.

With regard to the AGM I cannot attend but would love it if anyone going could keep posting throughout the day.
I know there will be at least 1 RNS, possibly more but when your there you get to hear bits, rumours etc, you never know you might get to bump into PJ!
I'm sure someone will be posting on twitter but the more the better.
Are any of the regular posters going? Tray etc?

BP has been disappointing but it could still have a very bright future, definitely worth holding a few. I'm of the opinion that there is upside here and I suppose we need the war to end to see where the Rosneft saga is heading, but May's figures should SURELY be a boost?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing though, I have been fortunate enough to have bought BHP Group over the years, with some at under £7, and with a potential dividend this year of over £3 that's not a bad return, but buying the shares at generally sub £13 is a lot easier and a lot less risky than buying them today at £28+, although the future is looking bright for the miners.
If it was that easy we would all be driving Ferrari's!

Still think this is a sound buy at sub £4, I think people are scared of the anti oil & gas rhetoric but BP will still be pumping long after I'm brown bread.
Better to buy now than at £4.50+!
But that's obviously just my opinion!

I thought it was you but couldn't be sure without checking.
The important part though is although the buybacks have been suspended or stopped it may NOT be for a negative reason.
Could be divi?, merger?, acquisition?, allsorts really, will be interesting to find out the actual reason.

A possible (& viable) explanation was made by someone a week or so ago, can't remember who without trying to find it.
But they said could some sort of M&A activity have effected the buybacks because of the potential "insider knowledge" issues?
I don't know the answer but it could be. BP WILL be making a shed load of money at todays oil prices.

Really feels like POW is moving forward here and it's only a matter of time.

Harsh on meoryou.
BP is still a sound investment, and as with most shares its all about timing and when you've bought in.
There's loads of shares where its easy to blame managerial decisions for the state of the SP, just look at Lloyds Bank!
Despite huge profits there they always seem to disappoint!
With BP there's still plenty of opportunity for SP growth and despite everything they are paying a dividend which will increase.
Anyway each to there own, I'm happy to hold here, looking forward to May's figures.

Before anymore politicians call for a so called "windfall" tax they need to look in the mirror and ask themselves why haven't they secured this countries energy dependency/supply years ago instead of bleating now.
They are the ones that have blocked fracking etc, and continued to buy oil & gas from abroad.
They have had ample opportunity to set up a new "British Gas" owned by the country to secure the country's future supply.

The UK population has grown by approx 4 million in the last 10 years, 400,000 a year (roughly)
There only building houses at (roughly) 200,000 a year.
Deficit fuels house price growth.

At the end of the day the UK population is growing faster than there building new houses.
Coupled with relatively low unemployment, and low interest rates and we get rising house prices.

Correct but i anticipate high oil prices ($90+) all the time theres conflict in the Ukraine, and possibly beyond!
Yes BP will take a hit to their figures "sans" Rosneft but with $90/$100+ oil from their low cost barrels the figures should be interesting.

I won't consider selling anything this side of May and the next set of results.
Oil at $100+
Look at the profits with oil at $70+
Next quarter will be very interesting!

If so then yes, they never normally run "flat out"
Countries in particular adjust their supply to meet their opec allowance.

I wasn't going to buy any more until April and the new tax year but I've succumbed!
Again only a few hundred quids worth but each time there taking my average down bit by bit.
Will try and buy more in April but I feel like I have a decent holding now just in case there's really good news in the next couple of weeks!
