RE: Share Price Drifting13 Mar 2021 15:02
I hate to talk dirty but I guess it does help explain why some people might be short term or long term.
I tend to invest middle to high 5 figure sum, though I am only ever in 2-3 stocks at anyone time.
So even a 1-2% gain in a day or two is quite nice. If I achieve a 5-10% in a couple of weeks I am happy to cash in that £500 -£1,000. Chicken feed to the big boys, but to me that's a nice wedge. Its why I am short term.
If I only had a few hundreds pound - then yes it would make total sense to be long term.
I first got into BOO with about £7.5 K on IPO day. 80p Break even due to spike and the spread, so it was a painful few years before I actually broke even.
Since then I have traded. I worked out that had I had the luck/crystal ball to sell on the peek rather than trade I would be granted £3-4k better off. However that's if I sold on that peak. If I sold now I would be considerably worse off. So me personally I have been far better off trading it. Especially as I was able to put a deposit on a house up north to rent out.
