"but i disagree that iag and boo are in the same boat. i think theyre both afflicted by a lack of consumer spending, but holidays are much more steadfast in people's calendars. you'd be surprised how many people wont change their clothes in years but will happily go for a vacation."
I hold Boo and two airlines. Holidays being more important than clothes are true for some but not all. I am 46 and my wardrobe consists of quality clothes that last and staples in fashion. Classics or boring looks that don't change much. Those that might not have 2k for holiday still may have £200 for clothes this year. Clothes are also impulse buys to cheer people, to celebrate or to buy for an occasion.
The trouble with IAG, people may look to cheaper options for their holidays. JET2, Easyjet etc When it comes to clothes those that may have shopped at RL, Tommy etc may now downscale to BOO. If you need to downscale from BOO there are not many options.
