Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) abstracts and indexes the world's chemical literature - patents, scientific papers, conference proceedings. Any newly found chemical structures are assigned a CAS number, linked to a use and the corresponding CAS abstract number.

The new CAS numbers are made available to various organisations for a fee. Drug indexing organisations will create a new entry for CAS numbers designated as drugs.

Thereafter it is a manual job of going to the citing reference (available from CAS with the CAS number) and filling in (annotating) the data record.

I don't see a direct connection between the two Energyshares.

The JP Morgan conference is from Monday to Thursday at the Westin St. Francis Hotel and the website says the agenda is only available to attendees, who are by invitation only.

The Biotech Showcase is from Monday to Wednesday at the nearby Hilton San Francisco and all the branding for the organiser says EBD Group and I haven't seen any mention of JP Morgan on the website.

The themes of the two are very similar - "The investor conference for innovators" to quote from Biotech Showcase - and Biotech Showcase seems to be piggy backing on the JPM conference. Last year was the 14th consecutive Biotech Showcase, timed to coincide with the JPM conference (albeit online last year due to covid).

This Biotech Showcase runs from Monday to Wednesday, there is no mention of J P Morgan (they don't publish anything about attendees or agenda) and it is at a different venue in San Fransisco anyway.

Oncology sessions carry on to Wednesday. If Alan is attending this as part of AffyXell that could explain the wait for the RNS - although he would have known he'd be away so could have set the RNS date for MID January to lower expectations.

I'd say now Thursday, 12th for the RNS. That is still early January for me. Just.

Very interesting. Also very technical and so beyond my level of comprehension. Slides 12-18 and 29-34 seem to be the explanatory slides. Glad to see that AFX002 will be used for MS, which is a terrible disease. Too late for my nearest and dearest but I hope it works for others.

Attendees and agenda are not published. If it starts at 8am today, that would be our 4pm.

It is unknown whether Avacta will have any presence - presentation, poster, booth or mingling - there as there has been no announcement about such.

I remember mention of AffyXell doing something - could someone repost the news/link please?

I'm surprised Avacta hasn't released that RNS to coincide with this conference as it would surely be a very hot topic of discussion amongst the attendees...

Maybe the oncology part is on another day?

Maybe it's best to release around 2pm, that being 6am in SF as people are just stirring for the day, rather than 7am which is 11pm the previous day and people are arriving or drinking or busy making out?

Maybe Avacta don't consider aligning the release with the conference important, although they would have known its importance and when it was taking place?

Or maybe talk of early January was a 19 December guesstimate of when the trial would complete, be analysed and ready to present in an RNS?

Or maybe, just maybe, the office junior forgot to click Save?

Fortunately I own a salt mine. Well, I did. Sold it yesterday for $64,000bn, all of which is going into Avacta at 8am.
