Regarding the OP's comment and Avacta's "This is extremely encouraging as we work towards realising our vision of "chemotherapy without side effects" to make a meaningful difference to cancer patients' lives.", although WORKING TOWARDS it, this VISION has obviously not been acheived yet as AVA6000 is not being given as a therapy to PATIENTS.

It is a statement of where Avacta want to be, and Tuesday's announcement was a significant step along the path there.

If that were the case (e.g. 50% of standard doxorubicin at the tumour site), then the answer will be in the PK data. Essentially, how much and how long are AVA6000, 5140 and doxorubicin and its metabolites circulating before being excreted? I.e. if there isn't much doxurubicin in the tumour and we're not seeing the usual doxorubicin side effects, then what the hell has happened to all the infused AVA6000?

A solution to this would not necessarily be to increase the therapeutic dose in the clinic, but might be to give a slower infusion and/or more frequent infusions - both methods giving FAP more time to cleave the passing AVA6000.

Please sell SZ so that the SP can rise again.

Whether or not they have photos and life story of a patient successfully treated, I think the 'IMPROVED chemo WITHOUT side-effects' story would easily go global now.

Abingdon has had its problems - being screwed by the government over contracts like other diagnostic companies were, which has caused forced redundancies, share price collapse, losses and everything else that has followed from that - but is it a bad business? Only Avacta will know whether Abingdon fits the bill and whether their management and staff (thinking of TT here) are competent. TT certainly took a lot long than planned, but do we know what caused the delay? No, we don't. However, as part of Avacta, Abingdon't first commitment would be to the Group over providing manufacturing for others.

Do I think a takeover of Abingdon is likely? Like everyone else outside Avacta's strategic management circle, I have no idea.

Drugs (AVAxxxx) to be administered to humans can only be manufactured at Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) -approved facilities. Production of AVA6000 is currently contracted out.

Abingdon seems like a good fit - for when Avacta has approved diagnostics to distribute through Launch, as well as adding Abingdon's products to the Launch catalogue.

Yes MrR and Baffyman, a dose escalation RNS also announcing that Avacta has completely rewritten the doxorubicin rulebook with AVA6000 would blow the bloody doors off!

She's a development chemist. They don't do that at Launch.
