Well actually NHS in Italy is different. When my wife was dying each cancer doctor had read her notes in advance and wanted to hasten her move to hospice. I spoke to several British families where this was not the case. Italy has very recently digitised its notes and they are brought to the patient on a trolley. Drugs again brought no fixed nurses station. We had the very latest electric bed mattress imported from USA expensive immunology which sadly did not work. Still many doctors have to do a 12 hour shift it is not all roses. But the care was quite exceptional.
