As you know there isnt a single, standard, proven or absolute marketing formula for marketing/advertising.
One starts with most probable scenario first then go down the list.
Cost is a very huge factor and Melody is saving on it.
For MelodyVR there are other factors on top of other 2.
MelodyVr cant start selling Jam before Sliced Bread
MelodyVR can however sell Jam with Sliced Bread
There are so many many ways this could be done. MVR and Oculus gotta push each other.
Live Shows push is also inter-twinned in the same scheme.
Advertising takes money.
If MVR was spending money today on Live Show, it would have drowned by Thanks Giving first followed by Black Friday and then the drunken weekend mess.
Its not late at all for Live Shows,
This is tech field, no one has to sign papers or wait weeks
No one has to take a day off work to see gig, or buy tickets then book a cab or try to control the level of alcohol or think about smoking restrictions.
It will be a VR GIG !
