Instead, we are now left with a 3rd World country beholden to others just to function. Russia doesn't have to strangle the West,we can easily do that for ourselves.

Meantime, we can only hope matters don't develop into anything close to a 'worst case scenario' as Banks never win in such situations, but NWG are in good shape at present and whilst our hopes of £7 SP are now very much on the back burner, a lot can change very quickly with the US under its current 'leadership'.

The ongoing reaction from the Market is clearly signalling a fear of global recession thanks to 'events' in the Middle East. Clearly whether or nor not that situation comes to pass, it will be detrimental to just about everyone with the UK's economy already being in a precarious position.

I guess we all have to brace ourselves as once wars start, they rarely follow any sort of planned or ordered course so volatility in so many key aspects of life has to be expected. The Stock market is just one that will bear the brunt.

So they have issued a 'Research Paper' with the knowledge it would affect the SP but in the same breath have taken out a number of Short Positions to ensure they benefit from their own market disruption!

.......and this is legal?!

I have to concede, I was expecting a bit more positivity from the Market in response to the Q4 trading data. It's certainly proving a slow burner this one.

Hopefully, I'm not speaking out of turn here, but does the Market harbour wider reservations about Stx? The latest figures were positive and the co is broadly moving along its forecast track but, well is there a 'but'? The Co is essentially a one trick pony as far as products are concerned, so is there an issue with the Patents being c10 years unexpired?

These can be 'extended' for a further 5 years, the Co although heavily borrowed, is not over borrowed, so other than delivering on its forecast earnings path, I'm genuinely not sure what will be the catalyst for any appreciable upward movement in the sp.

As a holder, I hope I'm missing something but beginning to wonder if the sorts of levels (of sp) many lth's will need will be achieved.

Just a thought.....certainly not a de-ramp as my only motivation is to see the the sp rise which will hopefully benefit the majority here.

Been invested here for a while but never posted. For what it's worth, I feel STX are very much at a turning point and are now poised for dynamic growth. They are getting their 'ducks in a row' now and if they confirm now being cash flow positive early in '26, then the wider Market will wake up to this Co delivering with a proven product, a substantial backer, debt re-priced and under control.

Definitely on the launch pad with the engines firing imo.

Don't worry, I'm sure PWC will compensate all shareholders for any losses arising from them not being able to do their job timeously.

If, by chance, it's a 'material issue' raised during the Audit, it's resolution and likely impact on the closure of the Audit should have been flagged by CBG themselves if it could lead to the Accounts being delayed.......and, they havent to the best of my knowledge.

I have recently bought in here driven off the latest interims and further research/fundamentals etc. Obviously I view the prospects to be very encouraging particularly with the potentially pivotal point coming at the end of the year with the expectation of moving to a cash-positive position.

Confess however to being slightly perplexed at recent adverse SP movements but regardless, I remain bullish.

Finally my thanks to some excellent posters on this bb and my commiseration to any lth's still under water with their investment; we've all been there and I know how disappointing that can be.

Well, the possibility of a Windfall tax was raised on this bb some time ago, so, the only surprise is that it's taken a few 'leaks' to the media to seriously start to spook the Market.

After all, this 'government' is nothing if not predictable. As soon as their legacy shareholding had been sold off, we all knew a windfall tax was again a possibility.

I mean, imagine you are in Government, and you realise that you haven't the faintest idea how to grow the economy and plug the ever increasing number of black holes in the country's finances. Yes, you must have missed that lecture at night school.

So, you do the easy thing and raise taxes wherever you can get away with it. Always take the easy course without understanding the consequences.

That's a definition of sheer incompetence and we are witnessing it daily from KS, RR & Co.

It's just a pity a petition for a General Election couldn't be arranged.

While at pains to point out he is not on the BoD, D Lenigas does seem to be extraordinarily close to WSBN's decision making , including funding etc.

A strong case emerging to hold him as a "Shadow Director" and all that that entails (ie it's illegal)

He's got plenty of 'previous' for this sort of behaviour .

What's not in doubt, is, that NWG will achieve new heights in spite of this Gov and not because if it. And I acknowledge it was a Labour Gov back in 2008 that actually saved this Bank.

Meanwhile, I'm keen to see if the likely acquisition(s) foreshadowed by P Thwaite are more 'bolt on' in type or something altogether more strategic.

Today's decision by the BoE to reduce rates flies in the face of their supposed prudent approach to 'managing/controlling the country's money supply. No matter what data set they must be looking at, this decision has to be, at best, a very brave one, or, more likely, one that has the hallmarks of Gov pressure.

A Bailey is certainly scrambling about attempting to justify the decision in the face of food, energy prices etc already exceeding the target 4% and/or forecast to go yet higher.

With an incompetent Chancellor, we all need a strong BoE. Instead we got Bailey!

Agree Wyndrum - Cpx now growing into the Company we hoped it would have done a few years ago.

Progressive growth is best as Companies the size of CPX simply don't have the structure, funding etc to try and attempt a more dynamic step that many investors want.

That might be headline grabbing but it would bring its own set of major issues.

Better to stabilise costs, simplify the Corporate structure, focus on key markets and control the cash burn as we hopefully move toward break-even status in the not too distant future.

Thereafter we can really motor.

I think this result is as good as could be hoped for although, I for one, was beginning to doubt the Legal establishment in this country to actually deliver not only a fair result but one that was a victory for common sense (which I know has no place in Law!).

On a wider industry level be it finance or otherwise, could this just be the start in stemming the tide in Society's otherwise relentless march towards legal claims for compensation in even the most absurd of cases/situations.

Having been involved with CPX for many years, I think that our Co has finally reached a pivot point. One, that I honestly thought might have occurred a few years ago.

Crucially, they now have the right people on place in all the key areas. They have always had a world class product and their ability through R&D to maintain that edge has never been in doubt.

What the 'right' people have done is focus on finally turning a great product into a commercial success. Thi, you would think is the easy bit but in fact has proven to be the downfall if so many small cos with innovative products that simply dint have the skill base to take the next steps.

CPX have now addressed the perennial cash flow issue restructuring in the process but carefully constraining costs. Tie ups with key global players are now happening and the benefits here cannot be under estimated. These are not easily won deals.

Realistic steps being taken to protect technical advances through appropriate Patents continues but no longer the belief that these provide 100% protection from the impact of competition.

One of the biggest steps once production can be ramped up and the maintained, is the establishment of relevant distribution contracts to enable the product to reach its key markets on a consistent and timely basis.

I don't profess to have a handle on all aspects of CPX's operations but I am genuinely convinced the long-held views talked about on this BB are about to be realised.

Isn't it all down to our wonderful Gov discovering the latest financial black hole - one they caused by KS' latest u-turn on benefits.

It all has to be paid for and their only solution is to raise taxes again......you would think even this lot would realise they can't keeping doing this. They are simply killing the economy.

Kassam - mostly media speculation I'm sure, but Santander's UK arm got a mention. Wouldn't put too much weight on that, certainly until let's say, more reliable info starts to appear.

It was indicated that the potential acquisition was sizeable and would go far beyond the bolt-on purchases of carious lenders loan books. And, no I don't know if the recent announced disposal by Metro was hoovered up by NWG.

IMO, I think the CEO/Exec will want to demonstrate some dynamic leadership once free of the suffocating effects and controls of HMG (via it's shareholding).

Babarusa - In all honesty, my target price was £5 on completion of HMG sale/exit. That, again in my view looks likely to be surpassed in the coming weeks, albeit it could drop back at ex Div date of 13 March.

Thereafter, dependent upon whether or not the rumoured potential acquisition(s) actually materialise, the medium/longer term SP path becomes altogether more difficult to predict. Clearly, depending upon the scale of any acquisition, the potential for dilution could have a detrimental effect at least in thd short term.

This clearly is all IMO, and given my historic losses with this share (in 6 figs, none of which include pence), perhaps indicates the worth of my view!

Love all you guys' enthusiasm as the SP chases it's own 'target' price, but bear in mind this is a share at today's date worth little more than 46p if we strip out both the 'magic' of consolidation and the return of capital dressed up as an inflated dividend a few years back.

Much more mileage for growth left imo and all the best to those who are again making some profit from this share.

That NWG's sp has done very well in the past year or so is not in doubt, and whilst the recent dip in its share price could be attributed to a whole plethora of relevant issues, I wonder how the Market looks at the prospects of the Group hitting the acquisition trail again (if rumours are to be believed).

Most lth's will be well aware of the Group's 'history' on that score albeit no doubt many will say NWG is an entirely different animal to the lemming-type that did its best to throw itself of a Corprare cliff. Also, it's different people running the show etc.

These issues are peculiar to NWG, but potential Earnings dilution, control of integration costs, capital funding/adequacy etc etc looking forward, would, if nothing else, clouds picture that for most was looking unseasonably settled.

May not come to anything, but we should never expect a dynamic leadership team to rest on its laurels, and clearly with HMG shortly to be offloaded, there looks to be a considerable Agenda that's been sitting in the pending tray requiring action.

Interesting times could be on the horizon as they say.
