Anyone know why this and the rest of the market has dropped so much today? Dunelm's update? The budget? Further banking sector scares? Whilst I have only seen highlights of the 2023 Budget, it was more optimistic that I had been expecting so puzzled at the big drop today.

I suppose it is a mix here. Going long on BOO I will be very happy if the share price reaches this. That said, I find it distasteful that the board will be getting big bonuses to get the share price to where it was after letting it slide so much on their watch. I understand the external macro factors at play, but it still seems a bit rotten to me.

I try to not think in terms of conspiracy theories, but honestly I agree that since the shorts ramped-up there definitely has been an increased level of negativity, despite the positive momentum.

Well said knowbody, the less propergander posted either way and the more grounded reasoned opinions either way the better.

Surely the drop was due to the US CPI data?

Yes apologies, I didn't mean to suggest that ASOS are going bust, just that on a financial health basis, they are by far the most at risk.

How is that different in anyway to any other apparel merchant?

I doubt they are going bust. Liquidity factors are worse than they were a few years ago but we have also seen a lot of capex which has been funded through cash/cash equivalents so it isn't a like for like comparison. In turbulent times profitability isn't key, but cashflow. If Boo have the spare cash to invest in REVB it would suggest that cashflow isn't a problem. The financials will reveal all.

If any of these companies goes bust it will likely be ASOS, which if this does happen, will reduce competition in the market that BOO and SHIEN will likely gobble up.
