I hope so and agree with that's where the strategic focus should be but I personally think given large positive FCF, whether that's generated through trade or changes in property assets, that they will use the cash to acquire more business/brands, hence the empire building . I could be completely ofc.

A share buy back on these prices from equity released from underleveraged assets would be a very good plan IMO, but methinks if they did generate extra cash this way they'd more than likely just use it for future acquisitions. To me at least, BOOs goals appear to be focused on empire building.

Seems to be a lot of fear on this board and I can see why with it crashing from its peak so much and the disappointing trading update, but I tend to agree with Nige here. Its trading well below NAV at this point and the update wasn't horrible by any means just a small revision downwards. I feel like this share is being priced to crash and burn, but the financials seem healthy enough to weather the current storm. A little bit of optimism and you would expect this to rise to NAV point at least, like £1.50ish range? I'm happy to hold this for a few years in any case.

Slacker - I have Pedro filtered so I cant see what hes said, I assume some generic crap that you could put on almost any stock that has tanked in the last 2 years, which is a ton of stocks. We all know hes a troll and most suspect hes shorting and maliciously trying to negatively affect the stock. Just filter him.

Or if anyone feels so inclined maybe head over to a board hes invested on and just copy paste the same pap he posts here and see how he likes it. Taste of his own medicine. Then again, maybe not, those boards seems decent enough without inflicting this crap on them.

I personally have to agree that Mobico will recover, otherwise I wouldn't be invested in it. They were not profitable in the last update, they had a group loss actually with some concerning metrics, like a -76% drop in profitability in the US is very disturbing, similar to what you always go on about re losing customers, etc. Yes they are different companies, but the ramp vs trash mentality you have, I think betrays your intentions here.

Guys/Gals - While I don't approve of T4G policing this board as I personally like to hear rational bearish opinions, I do think he is right on Pedro being a shorter and trying to negatively influence this stock. I lurk on the Mobico board and they had a bloody horrible update today (my other bad investment) and whom do I notice ramping in the chat despite the poor Trading Update, our Pedro.

He comes out with absolute negative crap over here day in day out on BOO's trading update, even on positive news like MA putting in big buys, but ramps over there? It is pretty clear he has an agenda here to spread negative sentiment.

Pedro - how? The only difference between today and yesterday is that a big investor is interested in buying more of the company. The SP wasn't nose diving without that positive news, why would it nose dive now?

PP1 - do you know if he got anything back out of the investment when it was sold to Boohoo? Genuinely interested.

Re takeover - it is a possibility imo. With the US stabilising and the UK still being incredibly cheap, its fairly likely well see cash rich US companies turn their eyes to the UK. Despite the negative update, there still seems to be decent financials and business model here too and with most of the revenue being in the US, it would seem to me to be a pretty good target for them.

Who knows though. Regardless I will be holding but also wishing I had trimmed more last week :(

Debacle - I tend to agree with your calcs below, although its probably worth noting that if/when they try to exit they may end up turbo charging the price per share, both from the big buys they will need to place and they behavioural aspects accompanying a short closing.

Hex - Agreed but unless I am missing something, not huge amounts? With the exception of insolvency fears, its not like it could go down by another 80% like it historically has.

Also I think those businesses are also ripe pickings for takeovers.

Oke/T4G - I tend to agree, its hard to crash large amounts when you get down to NAV point with the exception of insolvency fears.

At this point I'm not so worried about capital loss on BOO so much as that we don't get any good news and the investment stagnates or we have some form of aggressive takeover from a equity rich US business looking to play vulture capitalist on the undervalued UK market.

My gut feeling this is to protect hedge funds to not allow another Gamestop scenario happening. If the goal was to reduce the behavioural aspects of short selling then it would be just as simple to stop short interest as a practise. The market worked just fine before the financial effery of short selling imo.

T4G - If you look at the buy and sell volume vs total volume, it only makes up a fraction of it. I notice there are some real chunky unknown trades going through which could be to blame here.

Wolf - agreed, it is known that there is a lag between introducing the rates and the effects permeating the economy. The BoE were slow to increase rates when they needed to and now we are behind Europe and the US in dealing with inflation, imagine that!

I tend to agree with you all that 7% would be dire, but I have no confidence in Andrew Bailey at all. The BOE feels like a wildcard more than a rational actor here

Aside from a few bastions where the equity seems to be moving to along with non-stock investments like bonds and gilts, the market had carnage all round yesterday and that continues today as the news of higher rates are being digested.

Boo has hardly moved on this news, probably because it is already so beaten down and is basically at net assets. I understand that the markets have been divorced from the financial reality of companies for some time now, but to take this down to 14p would mean the share cap is about half the value of net asset which would be bloody ridiculous.

Also note I challenged you on the analyst who claims 14p last time about his history and the many BOO calls he made wrong, like the month prior where is stated it could jump and then it proceeded to tank 40% . You just ignored me and went on posting mass fear messages.
