The Alliance Family have stated Inheritance tax planning was their main motivator to switch to Aim, so there would be a hefty tax bill currently if they took it private. According to research on here and elsewhere the Alliance average was approx 118p a share in BWNG, following the £59.9million averaging down process at circa 57p. It's obviously slightly lower now due to recent buying by the family but to make the deal cost effective for them to take it private they would surely need to be at breakeven or higher to make it worth their while. Yes, as the article makes for great reading, including this juicy comment: "if there is a targeted buyout for Avacta, the price commanded could well be in the billions. The global oncology drugs market was worth circa $141 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach $394 billion by 2027. It’s hard to put a price on chemotherapy without side effects — both financially and in terms of human advancement. But as outlandish — or not depending on your philosophical perspective — as it sounds, I believe that £3 billion could be a conservative estimate. the YGEN share price is going to soar. This news could come at anytime, as you quite rightly say.

I concur with others on here too that we could certainly see 3.5p-4p a share within months based on what we know already.

This bodes well for AVCT. A takeover moved that bit closer today.

* The really encouraging commercial news for AVCT is that there were 8 takeover deals over $1 Billion in the pharma sector in Q3 2022.

* That compares to 4 such deals in Q2 2022. i.e. the hunger by big pharma to acquire smaller rivals for over $1 Billion increased by 100% in Q3 of last year. This is clearly brilliant news for us.

* The key M&A deals in the pharmaceutical sector in Q3 2022 were:

* Pfizer acquiring Global Blood Thereapeutics
* Amgen acquiring ChemoCentryx
* Royalty Pharma acquiring a significant stake in Theravance

Interesting article today (16.1.23) that could / should prompt an announcement from MGC :

* HempStreet collaborates with MGC Pharma to launch COVID-19 mouth spray

* HempStreet on Monday announced that it has launched ‘ArtemiC,’ a nutraceutical mouth spray to reportedly speed up recovery for patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms.

* ArtemiC has been launched in collaboration with MGC Pharma, a company with which HempStreet announced a partnership earlier this year. Headquartered in the UK, MGC Pharma is a pharmaceutical company working on polyherbal formulations based on cannabis and other phytopharmaceuticals.

* “HempStreet, through its collaboration with MGC Pharma, aims to create and bring to market phytopharma products to tackle mass ailments. With ArtemiC, the companies expect to reduce the symptoms of long COVID-19, which still affects more than 15 million people in India,” the company stated on Monday.

* According to the double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical research findings, ArtemiC may minimize the severity of symptoms of COVID-19. In addition, the clinical trial demonstrated a significant reduction in one of the primary inflammatory markers related to COVID-19, C-reactive protein (CRP), an acute inflammatory protein that increases up to 1,000-fold at sites of infection or inflammation.

TLW had a sustained rise pre and post the results of 10th January last year. The sp went from 44p at the start of Jan through to 61p+. Most of the increase happened after the results of 10.1.22 before dipping after 21.1.22. So there is scope, I agree, for a sustained rise in to the forthcoming results and then a further climb in the sp if what Rahul Dhir and the team have to say doesn't frustrate the market, which with TLW is always a possibility these days. The noises from TLW over the last 18 months since Rahul Dhir's arrival are certainly more encouraging. So, there is scope for optimism at last here. Good luck, Brighty

A further quick heads up regarding research on actual deal sizes greater than $1 Billion in the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2022. The total was 8 deals over $1 Billion. This compares to 4 such deals in Q2 2022. i.e. the hunger by big pharma to acquire smaller rivals for over $1 Billion increased by 100% in Q3 of last year. This is clearly a very positive trend for Sareum investors to keep an eye on. The key M&A deals in the pharmaceutical sector in Q3 2022 were:

* Pfizer acquiring Global Blood Thereapeutics
* Amgen acquiring ChemoCentryx
* Royalty Pharma acquiring a significant stake in Theravance

I think we should add Amgen to the list of suitors for SRA737 and still look out for GSK in relation to an overall takeover of Sareum.

IQE's 52 Week high of 54p a share has been achieved this afternoon. Onwards and upwards. Next stop 100p a share. Things are starting to look encouraging here with H1 revenue up to £86.2m (H1 2021: £79.5m). Those that have been here quite a few years will know that SRA737 has shown beyond doubt to be an exceptional drug in combination with Merck’s Keytruda, Eli Lilly's Gemcitabine and Astra Zeneca's WEE1.

It would make perfect commercial sense for one or all of these giants to approach Stephen Parker in San Francisco this week at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference about licencing SRA737.

Merck, AZ and Eli Lilly have all witnessed the 100% tumour reduction in combo with SRA737 and they will know it is a future blockbuster drug in the making.

Re Mike Ashley making a bid. I'm pretty sure that there were some calculations published a while back showing that the Alliance Family average was approx 118p a share in BWNG, following the £59.9million averaging down process at circa 57p. I can't see a 56% share holder (Alliance) going for a low ball offer from Mike Ashley & co of half what their investment was bought for? A bid would surely need to be at breakeven or higher to make it worth their while. i.e. 118p a share at least. Good luck, Brighty

Hi Baserite, 100% agree with you re a JV and/or even M&A in due course. We operate in a cash rich sector. In the short term if we can climb 100% today to 6.2p and then replicate the 100% the next day also (as we exactly did from 5p to 10p in 2017) and then climb the following day from 10p to 20p (as we did back then) then, yes, anything is possible with PYC! I can see this stabilising in the 15p - 20p range with a little more news with the odd spike much higher. I'm sure you can also remember, like me, the intra day of 32p for PYC back in 2017. Don't forget that back in 2017 PYC had 5 days of huge gains when it announced a relatively small contract win (with a major pharma) in November 2017.Then the share price went from 1.3p to 4.2p in one day. It then climbed the next day from 5p to 10p. It then climbed the following day from 10p as high as 32p before closing at 17.1p. Anything is possible with PYC. See below. Good luck, Brighty
