RE: Broker alternative to II12 May 2019 10:28
When I started trading with TDW you did not even need the money in your account to trade!
Settlement date was 3 days rather than 2 which gave you a day's grace I suppose but it was lovely to be trusted.
I am in dumping mode , my Santander credit card has been good, providing cash back, up to £3 pm on each of 3 classes of transaction 1% (food stores) , 2% (dept stores) , 3% (fuel) .
When I was working I was spending £100 a month and more on fuel so always got more than £3pm.
Now I am not working I am not spending much on fuel at all so last month, despite paying them £1500+ in one month (scooter, insurance on the Berlingo etc), I found out what cash back means!
They gave me just over £2 and then then did the cash back ..... their £3 pm fee!
I used my Tandem card yesterday for the first time, 0.5% back on every transaction over £1 (so all of them) and no fees at all if you stay in credit.
On the way home from Morrisons I got a confirmation text on my mobile that the card had been used and how much and when (31 minutes ago). Might get irritating after a while but I was amazed how quickly they were informed unless Mastercard check with them for every transaction? Suppose so , you might have reported your card as stolen?
So Santander is getting the heave ho for their credit card.
