I am still bewildered why the price rose at all far less to 20p since 15p was announced, except that I wanted to buy back below 16p as soon as I messed up my OO intentions. After an OO the price usually drops below the offer price - another anomaly that does my head in?

Hallelujah, Jarvis have finally responded and confirmed my application has been accepted (not actioned in case someone thinks that, ). So I can relax and see what will be , poor old Doris Day, brilliant for her day!

If you look at the short positions on LSE above, you will they were 5.9% at the end of April (a 3 month low by a fair stretch) and crept back up to 7.99% by the 8th May.

Now look at the share prices between those dates - 17p down to 15.2p rising then to 16.11p!!!!
The shorters have seen 17.65p on the 9th rising to 20p and today back to 17.16p (if the above number is right).

How are the shorters winning for X sake? They might be on the way to better times but currently the train is on the other track!

Buy or Sell?
If we trade shares between us one of us is buying and the other selling, both at the same price.
So the buys and sell count matches. Simples!
Whether it was a buy or sell is not complicated.

If you want to buy my shares from me then I will charge you the ask price - the high end of the spread.

But if I want rid of my shares and ask you tobuy them , you will be reluctant to pay more than lower price , the bid and the deal is done at the low end of spread!

So if the spread is 18p - 19p and the price paid was 18p it is assumed it was a sale, and conversely if 19p changed hands it was a buy.

I reality the spread is usually volatile so it won't be either 18p or 19p as the deal is struck. It may be 18.2p which could be a buy or a sell but is most likely to be a sell. When it is wrong people complain their deal is shown the wrong way round.

L2 shows you the full story on a stock. If you offer 5p to buy some SXX you won't see it anywhere until the price drops enormously (never) but on L2 you will be able to see it is out there! With the full story of what price people are trying to achieve with their buys or sells and the prices being available NOW allows you be aheadof the game if you are clever. The current L2 prices take a while to reach your brokers screens which is why you get a different price rather than the guide price at busy times. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose but L2 experts will know before you I guess!

Morning Scotty, this is my lucky day.
I let Poppy out on the side of the house where she sits by the hedge/wire fence and looks at their two dogs before coming back in.
Well, they moved last week so no dogs! However the neighbours on the other side of the house up a steep bramble bank (15ft) also have a hound and yesterday she crawled through the brambles up to their wooden fence which stretches to the road on the outside!
Let her out today and was in bed closing down everything in my II broker account when the phone rang!
It was a van driver who said he had Poppy in his van!
She'd chased a fox down the main road but after she lost the fox, he called her to him, and of course she got into his van.
Could easily have been the last I saw of her if he'd been a nasty type.
Whether she flushed it out and ran along their fence to the road or whether she jumped the gate in the car port I'll never know!

J&B plumbers will be in my good books forever! I had to walk down the main road in a dressing gown and pants with my bare legs for fear he'd change his mind and drive off with her. Luckily his is a dog owner and knew the grief that would follow if she was run over - pinching her was far from his thoughts, though he thought what super hound she is, as most people do.

I am going to have to put up a gate between the side of the house and the hedge so she cannot get out to the back garden and freedom! This was a triumph for the ID tag I bought after Liz died when the old one disappeared. Microchip would have got her back eventually from a guy like that. I thought it was birds in the brambles but must be the fox moving around if Poppy goes near.

If his friend is honest and very successful, why wouldn't the guy put his trust in him?
I got into TLOU because of a poster named Shank's Pony for whom I have great respect after many good posts about SXX on another board which has fallen out of favour. And I don't even know his real name!
He gave TLOU a big thumbs up against his natural instincts, so I was 90% onboard when I checked them out.
I am still enthusiatic but it has been a longish wait and the wait is not over yet for some real action.
Not as long as SXX is taking mind!

Tobin if you like Aussies who have a history of success in AUS and moved abroad to try their hand there - lookup Tony Gilby and TLOU energy. Like Sirius they seemed to have the authorities on their side and then did not!

Sold all my Aussie shares - got 13c for TOU and opted for settlement in GBP on both holdings.
Both deals went through in very few minutes, maybe 3 or 4?
They would not show what the AUD$ to GBP$ FX deal rate would be because I had no AUD$ in my account.
But on the trade they showed .529 whereas it is .54 on the website that I saw!

No point in keeping that broker now everything is in sterling - money or shares! CBA had dropped 2$ since Friday close -- the Aussies have Murphys too!

When I mentioned CF knighthood the other day, I wondered if he could be knighted.
Basically anybody can but only those from the UK and the commonwealth are entitled to be called Sir!
Chris was not only born in the UK (Yeovil) but was raised in a commonwealth country.
Whereas Bob qualifies on neither count so is plain old Bob even though he is knighted.

Open offers are just a block of new shares that are offered to current shareholders direct from Sirius (through their brokers). It is a fund raiser for Sirius, new money.

You cannot participate in that process and will be buying from existing shareholders on the open market (I can see why you are confused) and Sirius won't see a penny of your money.

The only material difference to you will be that instead of owning 1/x th of the company for each share, you'll own 1/y th where y=x+the number issued in the OO. You'll be in the same position as us once it is all settled

Just thought of one small fault with x-o.
If you enter a limit bid that cannot be matched and you decide to change the limit, you will usually cancel the first attempt before entering the new one. It only happened once, but I had to phone them because the cancel was in a pending state for hours! Very infuriating at the time. It may have been a one of or off but it is not something I do very often. Best to know the whole truth though?

I guess the brokers will take dividends into account on T3+ deals - so the price will be hammered even more if there is a benefit being grabbed?

The bath is so high I'd be at risk of falling Chesh - and the nurse said not to allow the shower to hit my leg wounds directly. Luckily the shower is overhead so that would be tricky if you wanted to!
