I have a few shares in RR but they are held by one of the organisations that do that sort of thing.
They credit my bank with piddly dividends plus send me C shares which I have never understood.
On the back of the C share certificate it provides details of how to redeem it. I must have received scores of them over the years. It goes back decades , so long that I cannot remember how I got the shares in the first place!
Probably issued free with an insurance policy or something?

Would any of you please be kind enough to explain if I can stop getting the C shares and receive the full dividend instead.
And if I sold up (I don't know if I have a share certificate after several house moves) , are the C shares in my name worth anything.

Alternatively I could try to move them into my nominee account so I can control them.

Any advice will be welcome.

Blackrock look likely after the RNS.
Ex-div date reached so it seems unlikely to reach £17 except A trades do not not seem to to have dividends in the criteria.

JTD, if you are an investor (the I in PI ) , the share price is immaterial.
You puts your money in, and wait for it to reap dividends, by which time you can continue receiving dividends that beat the ISA rate at the bank or you can hopefully sell out at a premium because the company is established on the FTSE proper.

And then there are day-traders - the total opposite - every change in price is good or bad news and the that makes them act like the ADVFN board leaders, when it is bad after bad after bad because they want to get out and buy cheaper before the market turns. If it doesn't they get mad. I don't!

Bit like a bus ride - the PI buys a ticket to go from A to B and is happy when he arrives at B irrespective of the route (within reason)..
The day trader wants to stop at every pub and brothel en route - and boy does the driver irritate when he takes a route with neither of them!

ADVFN mob enjoy berating TIDD and think because he walked away they are one or two up on him. Bit like Phil Taylor not wanting to play darts against village idiots!

SXX has failed imho, AVN and USOP are still running but have been lapped , HMV went bust. I'm hoping only 4 out of 5 failures ain't bad. I had doubts about Fraser's big ideas , Williams at AVN always seemed to be a plonker but Walsh came in and I had faith in him (ex Diagio), the Irish Brian was a shady dreamer and Fox lied!

None of their traits are apparent in TG - and he has a good track record.
Why would TG want dilution on his 20M+ shares - he says he is looking after shareholders to the best of his ability, considerable ability at that - Phil would give him a game. Did I hear someone say, "Bring on the Power?".

IG have a new platform which I am familiarising myself with.
Commission was £8 UK $10 AUS (was £5.50 now £5.20 at better fx rate) so I saved £3+ on ASX and bought TOU.
To get reduced rate of £5 UK was quite a few £8 commissions in the month before.

Just did a dummy buy on TLOU/AIM and saw commission is £3! Found this ...

My1, nice post but on your point about the iffyness of the RNS, that is TG all over.
Imho, if he says something definite, you can put your mortgage on it but he has always given us the potential downsides , even if he did not expect them to happen.
I don't believe he wanted to publish yesterday's RNS - he said he planned to publish it when we had the gas flows needed - but the negative crap on these boards about him and the bod, pushed them into giving us a premature delivery. He was right to wait and should have stuck to his guns. But it was a positive RNS and neither he nor I expected the reaction it got from some quarters and the market.
I think we have thrown the baby out with the bath-water - and added more water to the equation.
My motorbike kitty nearly went in yesterday! I thought about emptying my bank account in expectation of the price doubling. I'd then recoup the cash and voila I'd have my new bike paid for by one day trade!

If his personal fortune is wholly in HL then safeguarding enough of it to insure his future is understandable.
I don't expect freetrade to threaten HlL in te form described. If they trade via the States, the timing and therefore the price looks dodgy, and I cannot imagine they'll fancy supporting placings for nothing - established brokers seem to struggle with keeping punters informed - presumably because of staffing issues. The incentive for freetrade looks even less but I am guessing. I know the company doing the placing pays the broker and duty etc but is it generous?

Well, I don't know if MM wwas joking (about doubling before month end) or not but ASX spread looks healthier.

CBA is going bats - I missed them at $77 and never bothered over $83 because $84-$85 is realistically the peak.

MS Access/Excel type is so small I can't see it , and inserting the cursor between the correct two letters is so hard. For query design I have manipulate it so I can Zoom and that is still too small for me.

The solution is there, but it's well hidden. In the Start menu select Settings; in Settings select System (not Personalization, as you would expect); in System select Display. Unless you want everything larger, skip Change the size of text, apps, and other items; instead click on Advanced display settings; "

Scale and layout is the birdie - I do want everything bigger ( especially the sp)
Mine was set at 100% for the miniscule fonts!
Idiotically, the next choice is 125% and it is recommended!!!!
Why oh why isn't that the 100% setting , and the 100% setting 80% or similar?

I am now having to reduce browser setting to less than 160%

IG Quote to buy 1000 shares is 3.29p , and sell was 3.12p - so MM is starring in the latest film Carry on Mysti-c-fying.
Aus closed 3.474p equivalent 6.7c - I suspect if there is a major move it will come from there - closer to walls with ears and also 12 hours ahead of us.

I knew NE had replied (as is clear in my post) , and remembered you thought the same poster was on both boards.
I'd forgotten it was DTE and assumed it was NE that you were referring to.

NE used double negatives in his post which can throw some folk, and in my post I miss out "not" a very high percentage of times. Not sure if predictive text throws up a "not" which I fail to accept with a "tab" because it is fine if I watch for it!
