My personal view on the matter is, given the more and more positive on Omicron (that it is less harmful than Delta) there is only one direction for the SP, and that is UP.

Only kidding, I'm sure if we all had a few bob to spend, we would like a dip, and one in the market, the sky is the limit. (been there done that lol)

Chitty, I know the feeling. Wifey & I have an ISA each. These were re invested this morning at about 10-30am (@3.2745). Our main trading account has the divi, but has not been re invested yet (as of 4-06pm)

Poor service, but it seems that many others are in a similar position.

cochv, I know what you say. ii charge me with the 99p, then give a 99p credit, making the trade free.

Mike, my mistake, £9.99 is the monthly flat fee, and ii do give you one "free" trade per month (and it does accrue)

Like I said, I don't trade very often. I was with "The Trade Centre" and got taken over by ii, so had little choice in the matter.

ii has been cheaper, but their customer care centre is poor. If you have a query, you end up hanging on the phone for ages. Plus their call handlers don't seem to be that smart. The share centre always answered promptly, and their knowledge was very good.

Small matters, but once you've had very good service, you notice the difference. No going back though.

Hi Mark, food for thought. I thought I read somewhere, that you pay no trading fees if it's a divi reinvest trade, as apposed to a "straight" trade, and although I get 1 free trade per month, the rest are charged at £9-99 (not that I trade very much,, but I do qualify for quite a few divis over a 12 month period. Maybe this is the "price" I have to pay ?

Agreed. The one thing that bugs me with ii is they don't re invest the divi for 2 working days. That means they gain interest until next Tuesday. I used to be with the share centre, they use to re invest on the payout day.

A major concern I have on the Ukraine issue, is the possibility of western sanctions against Russia. I strongly think Oil might be a factor considering BP has strong holding in Russian oil.(Hope I'm wrong)

I don't think Russia gives a dam about what the world thinks of its policies. It has oil, it has LNG. Both in short supply (especially if you take their quota out of the equation).

Do you think USA will step into the gap ? Not likely. This is in Russia's backyard, and Putin seems hell bent on flexing his muscle. Who / what is there to stop him ? All this talk of "consequences", I've seen no detail on what these might be.

And yes, I believe it will hurt BP short term, just not sure for how long.

Sorry guys, but this Ukraine thing is starting to look serious. It has a big impact on BP. I'm surprised no one else has raised this as a serious potential problem. It looks like we are burying our heads in the sand.
